View Full Version : Who has the best jumpshot?

COBY KARL
03-10-2009, 09:06 PM
I'm talking more about midrange rather than the long ball

Here are a few players that come to my mind:

Dwyane Wade
Kobe Bryant
Dirk Nowitzki
Brandon Roy
Michael Redd
Joe Johnson
Paul Pierce
Ray Allen
David West
Kyle Korver
Mo Williams
O.J. Mayo
Richard Hamilton

and please....no, Mike James does not have the best jumpshot

Today, for pure shooters, form, timing, release, etc...

I'd say (in no particular order):

OJ Mayo
Kobe Bryant
Randy Foye (look at the arc on his threes)
Mo Williams
Jason Terry
Ray Allen
Vladimir Radmanovic (nobody gets arc like that and still hit nothing but net)
Dwayne Wade
Jim Jackson (don't know what team he's on anymore, or if he's still playing)
Kyle Korver
Gilbert Arenas
Dirk Nowitzki
Jason Kapono

Not to be a homer, but Kobe is. Kobe is the only player in the NBA that seldom double clutches when heavily contested. He puts up every shot as though no one is guarding him.

It comes down to either Kobe Bryant or Ray Allen. It depends on if u want the most quickest release that is very accurate or u want the slower mechanical form that is accurate and unblockable and has more a chance to hit in someones face.

lol, well in this version of the game, he tipped them both 3 times and they were out. It was an amazing comeback too, because Christie had 20, and missed his free throw and went back to 13, leaving Kobe at 19, and well, the rest is history...

You're saying Jim Jackson wasn't a great jumpshooter?

What sucks about the internet is if you get into an argument with someone there's really nothing you can do. So let's not waste our time here. That list I compiled, is my personal opinion, because I've seen all of them shoot and I've compared each of their form, release, timing, etc.

Kobe's jumper is about as beautiful as it gets. I'd say he's by far the best at shooting contested jumpers..........not sure about wide open J's (cause frankly Kobe rarely gets any of those) maybe Ray Allen? Or Jason Kapono?
