well, it didn't produce any superstars, but in terms of guys who never touched the court or where huge busts, it avoided that better than most drafts. A lot of those guys at least still contribute, or at least at one point did contribute.

Top 10 picks are supposed to be contributers. They're suppose to be stars.

Not every draft produces Dwayne Wades or Chris Pauls. I have a feeling this years draft will be similar to this.

this years draft will at least have a true star.

2000 draft year sucked.

MGB
03-06-2009, 10:40 PM
that draft only produced a couple of starters even... it's turrible. But it did include Mateen Cleeves and Khalid El Amin, so it's OK in my book.

This is the definitely the worst draft in terms of lack of talent/franchise players.

I was referring to the entire draft class, all 58 picks, not just the top 10.

03-06-2009, 10:49 PM
The only picks I liked from this was Mike Miller, Michael Redd, Marko Jaric (this one should be a given right), and Eddie House.

03-06-2009, 10:53 PM
I was actually speaking about this draft in the other thread about "rearranging" the 2001 draft.

So yeah, this draft pretty much only produced 3 consistent producers. Micheal Redd is definitely the best from this class. He is followed by Jamal Crawford. Then, Kenyon Martin. But yeah, even if you look at all three, Redd and Crawford are best as #2 options and Martin is good as a starter but not even a #2.

There are some that had the potential to do ok. Miller and Miles are two perfect examples. Hell, both even contributed enough to be ok role players but things derailed from there. Truly a bad class. Oh, and Hedo was there too...though it took him a LONG time to develop. Drafted in 2000 and is only producing well since 2007. 7 years of not so great gaming.

Well, better to draft badly in a bad draft that only produced some 3 productive guys than to be like the Pistons, and drafting a horrible guy in between 4 superstars (not good, not great, not stars...Superstars). Or Washington drafting

03-06-2009, 10:54 PM
That is pretty bad...LOL Chris Mihm at #7

bostncelts34
03-06-2009, 11:05 PM
few pretty good players.. Miller,Crawford, Mileurkos (if he didnt get injured),K-mart (injuries also slowed him down),turkoglu, house, REDD.

not a HORRIBLE draft, just not many stars.

Halladay
03-06-2009, 11:06 PM
Crawford, Miller and Martin are really the only players that turned out to be above average players. Not all drafts are created equal I guess lol. Some years are bad and some are good, that's just the way it is. I still believe the NBA should make players stay for 3 years of college, it just makes sense to me.

Keep in mind at that time Swift had huge potential.

Redd, crawford, turkulu, and martin are the only ones that turned out to be somewhat allstar quailty players.

Wow, the only decent or good players were K-Mart, Turkoglu (and it took him a while), Crawford, Miller, Q-Rich, Magloire, Mason, Mo-Pete, Stevenson, House, Redd, and of course, the great MARKO JARIC. And some of them aren't even that good.

the best player was Micheal Redd, and he was in the mid second round. That has to be the worst one i've seen. this year is going to be pretty low as well. I think other than Blake Griffin, nothing really special is going to be there.
