Just like the title says, Stomile Swift is going to join the Suns. What do you guys think, I havn't heard much from him lately, but a few years back he was a nice 6th man.

Stromile Swift is probably one of the most unmotivated players that has ever played. But with all that said, he does have skills. He's a nice shot blocker, can run up the court and can actually help the suns. He just have to be willing to play.

Ya, he reminds me a David Harrison from the Pacers afew years back, a first round pick, he had the skills for a 10 year career, good reabounder and shot blocker, could put the ball in around the basket, but was to lazy to lose some weight and now is out of the league

There was also that whole "failing three random drug tests" thing as well. I'm guessing it contributed to his lack of motivation.

It's usually customary when making a thread of this type to also include a link, just to validate your claim. I know it's true, but for future refernce.

Not trying to put a Suns fan down but Stro wont help...

He has had a hard time with his mother's death and is totally not thinking of B-ball right now... He also has had a LOT of injuries...Though I do wish him the best

Well although he's not motivated, the Suns Offense fits him perfectly!! He'll be an upgrade defensively and offesively over Amundsen

So they will make hi feel right at home. I think stromile has something to prove and this is a real good pick up.

He fits in well with the Suns, He's a smarter Amare without the mid-range game.

On paper, Swift is the exact type of player that could thrive in the Suns fast pace team. Too bad Swift has always been crap, I don't even think Steve Nash could change that.

The Suns offense is a perfect fit for Swift if he can get it together. Not sure I see his use with Amundson and Lopez, quite capable reserves, coming off the bench for Phoenix.

Agreed, all Swift has to do is block some shots, and run the floor and let Nash find him for a dunk.

Think its going to be irrelevant.

Worst case, it is. Pretty low risk signing, and if it works out, cool. If not, they just don't play him.

Ya, I usually would, I saw it on this website first so I didnt think of adding a link, I will remember next time if I see news on here first and post it.

Ehhh this is more of a gamble and a "lets see if he has it" type of deal. If he doesn't have it then it's not a big deal, but if he does then the gamble will pay off.

Swift is by no means any smarter than anyone except maybe Kwame Brown! He played well 7-8 years ago but developed a lack of motivation, energy, basketball smarts, love of the game. I watched him here and was glad to have him traded back to Memphis several years ago . Then he stopped playing/trying again after about 3 games. He became a total non-issue. I cannot imagine he would work very hard to play for the Suns, and it's a shame. He USED to be electrifying.

Stromile was born to play in this offense alongside Nash, good move
