PHOENIX (AP)—Toronto’s Chris Bosh had an explanation for how Shaquille O’Neal scored 45 points: He cheated.

“He was just camping down in the lane,” Bosh said Friday night, after O’Neal’s biggest scoring night in six years led Phoenix to a 133-113 victory over the Raptors. “I mean, if they’re not calling three seconds—I thought it was a rule, but I guess not.”

It was the 49th 40-point game of O’Neal’s career and his highest-scoring game since he got 48 for the Los Angeles Lakers against Boston on March 21, 2003.

“It was cool,” O’Neal said. “Guys were really looking for me. I’ve been saying all year if I can get those touches like that, I think I can do that every night.”

A week shy of his 37th birthday, Shaq made 20 of 25 shots and grabbed 11 rebounds.

“He’s just so strong and pushes guys right under the basket and gets inside,” Toronto coach Jay Triano said. “We have no match for him.”

O’Neal still insists no one can guard him one on one.

“I’m the only player,” he said, “who looks at each and every center and says to myself, ‘That’s barbecued chicken down there.”’

So do you think Shaq and the Refs cheated?

That is BS, Shaq got 45 on them and now Bosh needs a reason to say he cheated

Well 3 seconds in the paint does need to be called more. I see it being missed all the time. Still, his 43 is Shaqtastic :D

They can't guard anyone so they need to make excuses. C'mon, Bosh is supposed to be better than that.

Bosh is just whining because his team is so incredibly soft that they allowed an almost 37-year-old center to score 45 points on them while shooting 80%.

he should be tested after a game like tat

Bosh is just angry because he let him score 45 on him and his team and it makes him look bad. I wonder what he was sayin when Kobe dropped 81 in 2006, I supose he cheated as well. I mean it must be so far fetched that great players have great games.

I wouldn't call it cheating as much as taking advantage of what the refs give you. I totally agree that the refs basically let him camp down low... he does it every game against the Kings and i know he does it against everyone else to. He gets special treatment cause he is shaq.

Shaq is always called for a couple 3 second violations each game.
When he got the ball yesterday he acted quick.

I didn't pay much attention to him off the ball, so I won't say some were missed, but this just sounds like a frustrated Bosh.

"He cheated". I thought this was the nba not 5th grade gym class. im a Toronto fan, i watched the game and it was good to see shaq dominate like he use to. Yes Bosh may have been frustrated, but calling another athlete a cheater over "apparent missed calls" is a little unprofessional

I didn't see the game, but Chris Bosh must realize by now that NBA refs some of the worst in sports...

There'll be a game at some point during the season when the Raptors get all the calls. Every team has a few games a year where they get every call go there way. It's frustrating as hell when you're on the wrong side of it, but you just have to keep playing.

i really think he requires separate rules. he's too big. i think the refs do a good job of not calling every ticky tack fould that he gets, but i think he also dishes out a lot of punishment that should be called.

He said 3 seconds didn't get called, he didn't call Shaq a cheater. I didn't watch the game, but I find it hard to beleive that he camped in the lane as much as they are making it seems. I know in his Laker days he camped out on the block, but thats allowed. I think it's just frustration

I mean even if it was 3 seconds he still droped 45 on they *** lol... So Bosh needs to just stfu cuz he wasnt doing not a damn thing about it. And he know Shaq would **** him up in they next game so i think he need to stop crying for Shaq give his *** something to cry about. Give his *** that hook he gave Charles Barkley or give him that elbow he gave Bynum his rookie year

thats not "cheating".
if e really is camping the lane too long, and the refs dont call it, that is the refs fault. not shaq's.

Tell that to D.Wade. And yeah speaking as a Raptors fan. It was a disgrace. Bosh didn't play a lick of defence, and Shaq exposed him very nicely. Sure maybe a few 3 in a keys were missed, but it wouldn't have changed the game. Bosh needs to man up and take responsibility for the loss.

cb is being a baby. 3-second calls are always missed so shaq can't be blamed for just exposing toronto's poor defensive match ups

He was just frustrated.I watch the game and it was kind of crazy .If you wanna make a thread about what a player said after a game you could call every player in the league a baby and every coach. But hey taken shot's a Bosh is easy right now so I'm sure everyone will blow it way out of context.

This is just a situation where the refs didn't call it. He's Shaq, is a ref really going to keep calling 3 seconds on him until he finally steps outside the lane? No, because you don't expose veteran stars like that. You protect them, you coddle them, you let them get away with murder *cough* Celtics *cough*

If the refs don't call it, that's on the refs for not having any integrity.

“I’m the only player,” he said, “who looks at each and every center and says to myself, ‘That’s barbecued chicken down there.” This is why I love Shaq, when he retires the league will not be the same.
