If I had anyone to rebuild around it has got to be , Chris Paul. Im not really a fan of him to much but hes a young PG , elite in the league with leadership. He'd be able to play with my franchise for years.

kk You can't pick LBJ,Paul,Howard,Wade. ahah now its kinda hard.

kk My new person is Danny Granger.

Leaving out LeBron, Howard, Paul, Williams and Wade. I'd take Durant.

prolly Danny Granger because he is low maintenance unlike Lebron who wants everyone to come to the Cavs to be his right hand man (Hughes, Big Ben, Mo Williams) only one was successful (so far). Plus Granger is very good, very young, and believe it or not he still needs improvement unlike Lebron so Granger can only get better on top of his avg of 25 a game. The Pacers are doing exactly what this this is all about and thats building around a player.

I pick Kobe over any of those second tier youngsters. I still think he has another 5 years in him at the top level and that enough time to get things going.

tough decision. my first instinct says veteran leader at the PG position. Which would be Steve Nash. But then I think about his age, and have to go with Chris Paul. The guy is young, can lead a young team, and he knows how to get he ball to his shooters.

My next step would be to acquire a guy that can do it all for the next 10 years. Pass, defend multiple positions, rebound, shoot. That guy would be Jeff Green. Young, and he can do it all.

Then the draft rolls around, we have a high pick since we are rebuilding. I have to go with a scoring PF in this draft, and select Blake Griffin from Oklahoma. Although picking up Thabeet would be great to. A true center. But, I don't think I could pass up on Griffin. Touch decision between the next Barkley and next Mutumbo. Guys like that don't come along very often.

During free agency this year, I need to get my shooter. I'm going with Kevin Durant, a guy that when his career is all said and done, could be better than Kobe or Lebron. (but never Jordan)

Then, I trade my draft picks for next year to acquire Thabeet from whoever drafted him. :D

So my team looks like this.........

C- Hasheem Thabeet (defense and rebounding)
PF- Blake Griffin (offense and rebounding)
SF- Jeff Green (everything)
SG- Kevin Durant (shooter)
PG- Chris Paul (leader, passer)

Eventually, I would like to slide Durant up to SF, and get a legitimate SG. Also move Green to a 6th man role that gets starter minutes.

Love it but whens Kevin a FA ? Your Sg could possibly be Ben Gordon when you move KD up

If I can't pick the top three (we know who they are) I'd go with Chris paul or deron Williams. You couldn't go wrong with two young stud PG's then either dwight or durant

Thabeet is not going to be a good NBA player. End of story.

As a Suns fan, I'd like to say Nash, Amar'e or even Shaq, but if I had to build a team, I'd start with KG. Lebron, Kobe, D-Wade, all get the recognition they rightfully deserve for their amazing play, but why not KG. Last year's Defensive POY. Offensively, he may not be on the same level as the 3 I previously mentioned, but he's a 4 who can shoot, post up and shut down the person he's guarding. Not only can he shut down the person he's covering, but he understands the game. For instance, something as simple as helping the helper on D, KG has helped Pierce, Allen, Rondo, etc. Plus, who doesn't love the intensity he brings to the court, while leaving all of the off the court publicity to the superstars who bring it in a negative manner.

Amazing how many people didn't read the original post. He specifically said "you can't pick LBJ,Paul,Howard,Wade. ahah now its kinda hard". How many people picked someone on that list.....

Anyway I think I would probably go with Deron Williams. He's only 24 and puts up Chris Paul type numbers.

Thabeet is not going to be a good NBA player. End of story..

Thabeet WILL be a GREAT NBA center when it comes to defending and rebounding. He won't score much. But a team only needs 2 true scorers. 2 other starters should be defensive minded. Thats why Thabeet would fit my team, a true defender in every sense of the word.

Kevin Durant.....easily. The guy is 6'10, with the agility and athleticism of a guard. His offense is amazing right now, will only improve and I like his potential defense. He has long arms and should be a nightmare for opposing players.

DWIGHT HOWARD HANDS DOWN!

The NBA is all about dominant big men (i.e. wilt chamberlain, Shaq, K.G., Tim Duncan) all championship teams built around the big man. He is young, handles the media well, and a monster. I will predict that this is going to be the team to take over the East in 2010.:

I'll take deron williams since he is in the top 2 in pg's and is arguably the best.

Leaving out Wade, LBJ, Howard, and Paul....I'm going with Brook Lopez. He's young, he's cheap, he's got great bball IQ, and is just a good all around kid. He reads comic books, for crying out loud. In three years if he isn't 20/10 and all defense first or second team, I'll be terribly shocked.

I would love to say Rose, but I'm not sure that his quiet demeanor translates to good leadership. That's why I'd take Durant. He has a legitimate chance at averaging 30/8/6 in the next couple of years.

I'd build a defensive team with my main star being Dwight Howard

PG - Rajon Rondo
SG - Ron Artest
PF - Kevin Garnet
CE - Dwight Howard
SF - Shawn Marion

I'd build around Durant or Al Jefferson.

Absolutely. A big man gives you a lot of advantage in various situations around the court. Especially if he has talent and skillsets to match.
