Tough, dirty, intimidating? whos the guy?

DerekRE_3

One of the toughest? Ron Artest is pretty tough. And of course I'd have to add Gerald Wallace to the list...but I can back up my bias with facts.

He suffered from a broken rib and a collapsed lung and missed only 7 games when people thought he would be out for most of the rest of the season.

Dwight Howard. If only he had a killer look.
Kevin Garnett. I think he holds one of the longest streaks in consecutive games played.

if toughness as in a badguy/bully then artest
but
if toughness as in playing through injuries and stuff then it would definitely be KOBE BRYANT

JJ81
02-24-2009, 07:33 AM
Garnett doesn't scare anyone any more.
Artest isn't as crazy as he used to be.
Dwight laughs and jokes too much to be scary.
Ben Wallace isn't scary any more.

The scariest, most intimidating player in the league is definitely...

Luke Ridnour.

Nah, but seriously. Oden will be in maybe 4 years when he gets confidence and stops getting injured (hopefully he wont turn into a nice guy).

I might be completly biased, but apart from the wheelchair incident, Paul Pierce got stabbed 11 times in the back and neck, and came back after some freakishly small period of time.

I'm not talking about his chest-puffing posturing nonsense, but Kenyon Martin is definitely one tough mofo. He'll put a body on dudes like Dwight and Shaq and hold his own pretty damn well against them. He also has just made a remarkable recovery from double microfracture surgery, and all last season as he was being worked back into regular minutes, he was consistently going above and beyond the minutes limits that had been placed on him so that he could help as much as possible to make up for Nene's season long absence. Acting like a goofball aside, the dude's a warrior who has again and again put his body on the line for his team when he could have instead used his injuries as an excuse to just slack off and pull in his overpriced paycheck.

Why do people think Artest is tough? Do you think he could have whipped Ben Wallace? When Ben shoved him, he ran and layed down on the scoreres table till a much smaller guy threw a drink on him. Then he took his anger at Wallace on the poor itty bitty drunk.

Louis Amundson.

He is definately a new Flopper of the Year candidate to look into. He did take a shot fromZ-Bo pretty well.

I loved his New Jersey days...the saying 'no one plays harder than K-Mart' was a soundbyte. He was an ace defender...humiliating guys like Antoine Walker and Jermaine O Neal in their primes...and he could run the floor like a guard.

He has slown down considerably after his injuries..but he is still competitive. He can also be a complete knucklehead at times however with his cocky gestures whenever he makes a big play.

bostncelts34
02-24-2009, 10:37 AM
Injury wise..im going with homer picks.. Pierce. He got stabbed 7 times and still came to play a few games later. Also, KG has always played through injuries his whole career.

Now, actual intimidation guy...umm..this is gonna be weird, but Lebron. I say that because hes intimidating in the fact that he can just do whatever he wants to you if your guarding him, and that my friend, is scary.

when Artest was shoved by wallace he was laying on the scorers table trying to laugh it off and cool down, until the beer bath, so dude that says Artest was a punk for that isnt the sharpest knife in the drawer. This year the guy is playing with a torn ligament in his ankle and is still giving it everything he has. the only guy i've seen that can match up with Lebron and somewhat pacify the beast. No one in the league wants it with Ron Ron, fact. Shaq was body slammed by Barkley back in the day, and punched like 18 times in his head.

Hahaha, Pistol Pete's last words were "I got a boner."

Anyways, Paul Pierce is a pretty tough dude...

On September 25, 2000, Pierce was stabbed 11 times in the face, neck, and back while at the Buzz Club, a late night dance club in Boston's theatre district. He had to undergo lung surgery to repair the damage. Nevertheless, Pierce was the only Celtic to start all 82 games in the 2000–01 season.

There isn't a tougher tandem in the NBA than Kendrick Perkins and Big Baby Davis.

I mean, Big Baby body slammed Shaq when he was only 18 in college at LSU. If anyone else in the NBA can do that, then they're tougher, but until then, you have to go with Big Baby or Perk. Perkins is one mad, mean guy. Artest is all flash and not much substance.

When I said Gerald Wallace being tough I meant that he has a high pain tolerance. He plays hurt all the time. Right now he is playing with a broken rib...and only missed 7 games when his lung collapsed. If that isn't tough, I don't know what is.

Since when does an athlete sucker punching a fat fan make you tough? If anything the fan showed his toughness by hopping up right after seemingly unphased.

Toughness- it has to be AI. Plays through injuries, expert at drawing contact and not afraid of contact.

If the question was meant to be, who would win in a fight, then it would probably be Ben Wallace. Although I could definitely see the argument for Maxiel or Shaq. Also Matt Harpring does seem like a pretty tough dude.

Oh, however could he dare play within 3 feet of our savior Kobe.... Get off the dudes nuts and stop hatin on a guy for exploiting skills that few other people in the NBA possess... He plays tough and has been an intigual piece to the Spurs run over the last decade...

If you want to list a dirty player, you need to go no further than the referees of your savior Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, LaBron James, and Paul Pierce because it has destroyed basketball... They have become the 11th player on court and it's ridiculous....

Artest is all flash and not much substance.

man don't even say no damn big babby davis. that clown was on national T.V. cryin like a big *** baby. you can't be serious. where's oakley at when you need him.

I might be completly biased, but apart from the wheelchair incident, Paul Pierce got stabbed 11 times in the back and neck, and came back after some freakishly small period of time.

he got stabbed with a butter knife.

Kobe Bryant. Is playing with a broken finger for almost 2 years now and still shooting very well

Yea, I know...2 years and that finger is STILL broken...

January 20th, 2009

Kobe Bryant did not break his finger in the first quarter of Monday’s game against Cleveland, X-rays showed.

Bryant, who was guarded by Sasha Pavlovic early on, dislocated his finger on his shooting hand in the opening two minutes, but trainer Gary Vitti popped it back into place. He continued playing without coming out of the game or showing any ill effects.

whoever thinks Wade is tough needs to go back to when he hurt his shoulder and was crying like a little ******, and had to be taken away in a wheelchair. sad but true.

Artest easily. He used to be a boxer, and I would take him in a fight over anyone in the NBA. especially ben wallace
