How did the Bulls manage to trade Thabo Sefolosha to the Thunder for a 1st round pick!?!

http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/fullcourtpress/2009/02/thabo-deal-done.html

Thabo's career stats

5.0 points
2.9 rebounds
1.4 assists

Is he supposed to be a future star or something?

It dosent make sense to me either but the thunder have two more 1st round picks but yet and still that deal makes no sense for the thunder but on the other hand its a steal for the bulls who seem to making all good moves

star... no. thabo is a versatile 2/3 that is long and athletic. he plays above average defense, and can guard both positions. his offensive game is currently based around his athletic ability, mostly transition buckets and slashing, but he has shown signs of developing a mid-range game. the thunder have a lot of first round picks (their own, denver, and phx i think) they'll give the bulls the worst of those picks, which will be mid-late 1st, where thabo was drafted and is valued. his numbers are low because he didn't get a lot of run with the bulls. i'm interested to see what he can do with some consistent playing time.

thunder don't need more lottery/late 1sts. bulls clear up playing time for their glut of guards. pretty good deal on both ends IMO...

Its probably another teams pick and going to be a late first rounder.

It doesnt make sense if it is a top 10 pick, but thabo was money against the Bucks last night! I think he is very underrated.

Oklahoma City owns Denver’s and San Antonio’s first-round picks in this year’s draft, provided both teams make the playoffs. Those are labeled "protected” picks.

they also have phx's unprotected pick for next year

its going to be a very late 1st rd pick this year

Not bad for the Bulls. Trade a player they though was good but not really that good lol. And the Thunder get yet another young player.

Thabo could be the next Doug Christie, thats a good pairing alongside a guy like Durant, thats why.

Thabo was once a high pick himself, and played very well when he got minutes in Chicago. I like the Thunders side of this deal better.
