The Chicago Bulls have re-acquired Tim Thomas, and once again from the New York Knicks.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Bulls have sent Larry Hughes to New York in exchange for Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson.

Thomas had previously been traded from New York to Chicago as part of the Eddy Curry trade, but that did not turn out too well for either side, with Thomas asked to stay away until the Bulls finally bought out his contract.

The Chicago Bulls made their second big trade in two days on Thursday, agreeing to send Larry Hughes to the Knicks for Jerome James, Tim Thomas and Anthony Roberson, two league sources told ESPN.com.

For the Knicks, the trade is a bigger deal. Hughes can be a dynamic scorer and fills a huge need for the Knicks in the backcourt as they continue their push toward the playoffs. The Knicks have struggled to find scoring at the two-guard since trading Jamal Crawford to the Warriors.

NEW YORK -- The Knicks agreed to a minor trade Thursday with the Oklahoma City Thunder, swapping Malik Rose for Chris Wilcox.

You're right. It's almost impressive the ratio of how little he plays to how much he makes. Plus, he's always laughing on the bench as if he knows he may be the luckiest prick in the NBA/the world.

OMG, the trades over the past couple days are really going to show what the Bulls can do. I mean, can you imagine... Rose running the point and kicking it out to Tim Thomas or catching a streaking Miller down the middle!?!?! I am SO pumped up to see all the pieces on the court at the same time.

People don't realize how good Brad Miller really is. And it's a complete shock that the Knicks gave the Bulls Jerome James...that shows how clueless that team is. MAN :sad2::drunk:

Yea, that trade really made no sense for OKC. They traded one expiring contract for another, and a better player for a worse one. Maybe because Rose has a slightly higher salary and will give them a little more cap space

That's cause he never played. He is good at the old "pulling the chair out from under the defender" move, as well as taking charges from guards. Enjoy his services!

Why the **** would the bulls trade for Tim Thomas. I know we desperately want to move Hughes, but for a guy who we got in a trade years ago and got rid of because he was terrible then.

It was just a way to get hughes out of chicago without hurting the cap space for 2010. In case you didn't realize, after yesterdays trade, it is clear that Chicago is looking to clear a ton of cap space for Bosh, and possibly another superstar. I like the move actually because although I was one of the few that like hughes, he was selfish and didn't bring anything to our team. This way we shed one of our uneeded guards for a garbage player, a decent power forward and a young SG (even though we dont need him), without taking on any extra money.

i can see why the thunder would make that trade since rose's contract expires next year.

i really like these trades for the knicks. they solve their problems by getting a halfway-decent SG in hughes and a center in wilcox AND both of them expire before 2010 so that plan isnt ruined.

No por favor. larry Hughes is like Ron Artest. Where has this guy gone and shined brighly. He thinks score first, then pass which is not great for D'Antoni. Every1 has to remeber Larry Hughes was mentored by Iverson in Philly. he plays like Iverson -except for the numbers- Iverson ruins team 2 me because he is not a team player with 1 minute left in the game. This year, watch Knicks fans with a minute left in the game Hughes will think he is the key player in the offense and prove his worth = NBA journeyman

Paxson isn't going to piss away Gordon any more than he would have cut Hughes and lose the value of his expiring contract. In all likiehood, the Bulls will either attempt a S&T with Gordon or if both the Bull's and Gordon decide it's in their best interest that he stays then Hinrich is probably the next in line to get traded... (hopefully in a trade that brings back draft picks in addition to an expiring if not talent)

I highly doubt Gordon signs to stay. Thats why we got Salmons. The sign and trade is the best idea i think, but from the looks of things, it has almost looked like they have given up until 2010. But did you guys realize 2010 is also when Thomas becomes a FA?? What do you think Pax will do?? How much do you think he will be willing to sign Thomas for, and how much will Thomas settle for?? Or mayb try and sign an extension since if he continue playing so well??
