would be nice to see matt start the year off with 2 in a row. but i think that stewart or ky busch wins this race. matt will be a top 5 car though.

Either way the winner will be driving for either roush or hendrick

OC Knights #11

Tony Stewart or Kevin Harvick

As against this as I may be, I think that Carl wins this one. For some odd reason Ford always has really good runs at this track. 9 of the 17 NWC/NNC/NSCS races ever done here have been won by Ford and the last 4 February races have been won by Roush

I will Cheat and say again a Hendrick will take this one! Underdog: God I'm rooting for HAmlin the boy is hungry

You know I was thinking what are your thoughts on sprint guys racing against the Nationwide and the truck series?
I'm not really for it, it just seems like it does more harm then good and stifles the younger drivers progress

02-22-2009, 03:40 PM
The only reason they allow it is because most race fans would rather sit at their campsite having fun and not go to these secondary races on race weekend. If the Cup boys are there it adds interest and brings in more money for the 2 lower level series. It also gives good competition for guys like Brad Keselowski to see how they can stack up againt the big names before actually having to do it in Cup as a rookie. Its all about sponorship money and the bigger names you can put in the cars the more money you can generate from it. Its not like the Cup guys are able to bring anything from what happens in the Nationwide car because the cars are entirely different.

I'm not a fan of these guys running both series full time. It takes away from their time with the Cup series, where their focus should be, when they aren't companion races at the same track. The travel schedule for these guys from week to week is strenuous (sp?) enough without going back and forth on the same weekend that they are going to really wear down their bodies.

Total agreement but I just cant help but feel bad for 2nd tier drivers..The thoughts they have before the races must be "How the hell do we beat the sprint drivers...I dont feel they get a true 2nd tier champ or they even care..

02-22-2009, 03:59 PM
you have to let them do it. nobody is going to pay the money to go watch steven wallace and jason keller... If they dont plan on running the whole schedule, I do think they should be limited to the amount of starts in a non-cup series race

02-22-2009, 08:01 PM
Good points I am excited to see what lil wallace can really do.
JJ is leading 31 laps in with Jeff in 3rd Martin in 14th and JR in 41st...come on Dale

02-22-2009, 11:02 PM
