From ESPN.com (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3917505)

The New Orleans Hornets decided to trade Tyson Chandler to clear some cap space and add depth to the frontcourt. They'll have to go back to the drawing board.

The Hornets announced on Wednesday that the Oklahoma City Thunder did not medically clear the center and therefore rescinded the trade. Chandler would have gone to the Thunder for forwards Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith.

"We welcome Tyson back with open arms," Hornets general manager Jeff Bower said in a statement. "We went into this trade to garner more frontcourt depth to add to our team as we continue our push towards the playoffs. We expect Tyson and the rest of our big guys to step up to the challenge."

I would have kept an injured Chandler. The Thunder could have been a lot better with him.

Haha. That sucks for the Hornets I guess, although I've always liked Tyson chandler. Must be awkward to walk back into that clubhouse after being traded away.

chandler is so over rated. thats why the bulls gave him away for nothing and his play only evolved when he got to play with chris paul. trust me as a bulls fan and who watched him. chris paul made his career.

The Hornets were ******** for trading him in the first place. I wonder how he plays after being traded (if this is indeed true)?

He's never been a great offensive asset. But with West at PF, they need a big guy in the middle. That's what Chandler gives you.

wow, this is really unexpected. the thunder will probably try and make a similar move, but the timing might be too late. they might go after dalembert or kaman

I agree. The Hornets are a much better team with Tyson Chandler. Look at what they did last year when Chandler was healthy. They just need to get him healthy again in time for the playoffs and they will be very dangerous for any team they face.

As a fellow Bulls fan, I agree. But he's the perfect big next to Chris Paul and a great big to run the pick and roll with. He's quick, can cut, is athletic, and has very long arms. His hands aren't the best, but with Paul's passing you don't need top notch mits.

It was a steal, I really can't understand why they wouldn't want Tyson...

Unless there's something really wrong with him that we don't know about?

Yeah Oklahoma needs a real center too so they can move Jeff Green back to SF and Nick Collison back to PF where they both belong. Imagine Oklahoma City like this.

PG-Westbrook
SG-Durant
SF-Green
PF-Collison
C-Chandler

That's a killer lineup. They should still try to land a true center before tomorrow like Kaman or Camby.

It really is a great looking line-up. You're adding a great defensive big man to their core, without risking much chemistry. It just makes too much sense I guess...

Durant has been significantly better at the SF position instead at the 2 guard where he started the season.

Hahaha...as awkward and maybe a little disrespected \ used \ un-wanted Chandler may feel, he's been in the league a while and knows it's a business. I bet he's glad to actually still be on the team who has a chance to compete.

I think tyson will still be traded. They basically just got expiring contracts in return. I don't see why another team won't make the same deal while waiving the physical for tyson.
