What a game! 45 points, 19 Rebounds and 8 Blocks in 47 minutes. (We'll ignore the 5 fouls, 5 turnovers).

Side Notes:

Nate Robinson also came off the dunk contest strong with 32 points and 10 rebounds against the Spurs!

Kevin Durant topped his career high by one, with 47 points against the Hornets in a narrow 2 point loss.

hah, let me tell you, of all of my draft mishaps, that was the worst. I was so sold on Okafor but didn't think Howard had the same ability at that time. I thought Orlando would regret that one for a long time.

Big mistake by me then, but since I have no stake in this, no real consequences.

How do you know if he's in his prime or not? Different players hit their peaks at different ages/points in their career.

How do you know if he's in his prime or not? Different players hit their peaks at different ages/points in their career.Because I know he can still work on his post game. I think he can be way better than he is now. The same thing happened with shaq

Yeah but one game doesn't make a season. I doubt he can keep this level of play up for the remainder of the season and even if he does, that's only 30 or so games.

Helps out his MVP chances a bit. Needs a couple more performances like these. He flat out willed his team to victory tonight.

If this kind of Dwight Howard plays in the playoffs, the magic have a good chance without nelson

Teams will double team him and make him less effective especially in the playoffs. When the magic played the Pistons last yr in the Confrence Semi's, they double teamed him and he struggled with being doubled team. He hardly got doubled during the year but once the playoffs came around he got doubled straight away and he struggled cos he wasn't used to it. This is wat's going to happen in the playoffs, teams will limit his influence.

When Howard has his post game going like he did tonight...he's incredible. Okafor and Diop actually played him pretty well (Okafor stripped Howard 4 times) but he had his hook going and that is pretty much unguardable. He also was hitting his FT's. He just had an amazing game.

D. Howard is playing great basketball this year, he's definitely the best center in the NBA. He's also making a case for the MVP.
