What is everyones opinion on who the most underated player in the league is?
who should have made the all-star game but didnt?

I feel like Kevin Durant is extremely underated
he averages over 20 points per game his rookie year
and now...
he is 5th in the league in scoring at 25.5ppg
he is also shooting 48% from the field which is better than anyone at his position besides lebron james (it beats Nowitzki, Kobe, Wade, Granger, Roy, and Harris) all all stars
on top of this he is grabbing about 7 rebounds and 3 assists a game...
AND HE IS ONLY 20 YEARS OLD
why was he not an all-star?
and how bright is his future?

People keep saying how he is on a bad team so of course he is gonna take on a big scoring load. But to me, no matter what team you are on, 25 points on 48% is great. And like you said, he gets his rebounds and assists too. I think he is great now, and definitely will be talked about as an elite player in years the come. He has the crediability to be an all star this year, but the roster can only has so many spots.

The Kevin Durant secret is pretty much out I feel. Just read the Simmons article or something? haha j/k You can relax though bc he's gonna be an All-Star for the next decade starting next season. OKC just has to get a legit big man and they AS A TEAM can begin to become a threat too. The Mavs/Suns are on the way down and that will open up room for OKC in the next year or two.

Durant is getting the hype he deserves. He's still young but scroring 20PPG. He gets recognition. He just doesn't get the LBJ/Kobe type of recognition (not even Wade's) because he comes from a losing team. Usually you don't hear Wade's name in the Kobe-LBJ talk simply because the Heat isn't as good as the Cavs or the Lakers.

IMO, the most underrated players are Duncan and Ginobili. These guys are just so damn good, they've won 4 rings together. Duncan should be in talks with LBJ and Kobe. Maybe even Ginobili...

I can has all-star? :p

I don't know, I don't think he's that under-rated considering how many people have been talking about him recently.

I think you really need to look to role players to find the under-rated guys. Stars a lot of times get called under-rated so many times that they become over-rated. Meanwhile, no-one talks about the great job some role players do.

For example, no-one really talks about the job Trevor Ariza does for the Lakers (besides Laker fans), no-one talks about how good Udonis Haslem is for the Heat etc.

Guys like Roger Mason for the Spurs have gotten some love, as well as Shane Battier for the Rockets (with that article on him that DenButsu posted (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328095), and the amount of people picking him in my role players thread (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328678)), but I think role players are usually the guys that get forgotten.

Andrea Bargnani, raptors don't get a lot of exposure and yes his sophmore year was horrible but as much as I liked Sam Mitchel he was horrible with AB Jay Triano let Barg's play through some mistakes and he's been soild for the last 30 games even when his team is losing.I'm not saying he's no all-star but for the people who still label him as a bust just has'nt be following the guy lately.

David Lee...the guy is A LOT better than 90% of people give him credit for. He's got solid D and he's a double-double machine. The guy works as hard as any other big on the court. He's only 6'9 but he averages 12 boards a game (he also has one of the best FG% in the league).

i agree wit jeff green also.
HIM AND DURANT ARE VERY UNDERATED DUE TO THE TEAM THEY ARE ON

the thing is people need to recognize that OKC is going to be a team who is constantly contending from championships 3 years down the road.

They have Durant, Green, and now Westbrook, who are all promising young players at their position. They also have 3 first round draft picks in this next draft. And two the next year.

Their is trade talk that they are trying to sign Tyson Chandler who would make them have a defnesive threat and a young talent in center.

All they really need is one or two more role players in the next 5 first round draft picks...and they will be a force that needs to be reckoned with.

OKC ARE CHAMPS BABY...JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON

Morris Almond. The kid could be a 17ppg scorer easily, and he's about to get kicked out of the league by Jerry Sloan. He won't play him, and the Jazz can't/won't trade him. He dropped 51 points in the D-league (http://www.nba.com/fantasy/fantasy_playernews.jsp?date=12/24/07&type=news#morris_almond), he's a flat out shooter that doesn't get enough playing time to be consistent. Any team needing a SG/SF should take a serious look at him.

I dont think jeff green and durant are underrated. There getting recognized, we know who they are. We know that team is being rebuild and their now winning so why would we talk anout them like their superstars. Its like saying al jefferson should be an all star bcuz he puts up ridiculous numbers but his team is not winning either. I think Danny granger is underrated, have you seen this dude play.he needs more attention than durant or green at this moment.

How can you say Jeff Green AND Kevin Durant. Oklahoma won 13 games.

You're making it sound like they're even a decent team. They are not!

Besides, they are mentioned by analysts from time to time. They get credit, not a lot because they ONLY WON 13 GAMES!!

This reminds me of Butler's recent statement, saying him and Jamison were always going to be allstars (something to that). YEAH SURE. 2 all stars in one team, 11 wins. GTFO

Ramon Sessions of the Milwaukee Bucks is very underrated in my opinion. Since Michael Redd has went out for the year and Luke Ridnour has went out for a month, Sessions has completely taken over for a Bucks team that has been surprisingly good. The Bucks have won three consecutive games and he has averaged 24.2/9.7/5.6 over the last five. All this from a 2nd round pick two years ago...
The Bucks will be looking to lock him up long-term very soon...

PG: Chris Duhon--Randy Foye
SG: Hedo Turkoglu--Ben Gordon
SF: Danny Granger--John Salmons
PF: David Lee--LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Andris Biedrins--Mehmet Okur

I know some of these guys get SOME publicity....but all of these guys have a lot of players at their respective positions that get much more "sportscenter time" than these guys do....and you can take the first team or the second one and have an impressive lineup
