Suns guard Jason Richardson was arrested on Sunday evening after driving 55 mph above the speed limit with his unrestrained 3-year-old son in the car.

Richardson, who was clocked at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone, was charged with reckless driving, excessive speeding and failure to use a child seat. He was released from jail after a few hours. This comes on the heels of a late-December DUI charge, though neither incident should have any on-court repercussions.

This guy should be suspended for this. Going 55 MPH over the speed limit with his 3 year old child not in a child seat. He could have killed not only himself and his child but someone else driving reckless and selfishly. Where is the Child Endangerment charge that's what I would like to know???

If there's a such thing as the exact opposite of King Midas, that's what Steve Kerr is.

Huh? Unless they lied about how fast he was going, or lied about there being a 3 year old unrestrained in the car, there is no way they can make it a bigger deal then it really is.

It's rather irresponsible to be going 55 MPH over the limit with a unsecured 3-yr old child. Just not smart on his part, bad idea.

I admit im a little heavy on the pedal myself but 90 in a 35zone thats not speeding thats a death wish for you and your child

He got one game but shoulda gotten more.

Probably, because this is the second time in two months that he's been in trouble for driving offenses. Oh well...
I read on another board that it really wasn't his fault, it was probably the car that he was driving-he may not have been familiar with that particular auto.
That was one of the more creative and dumber excuses I've heard of.

What the F*^k was JR thinking???? Damn well deserves more than 1 game.....

completely irresponsible, thats for sure....i HAD been a big fan of J-Rich's, but c'mon man....it's impossible for me to have ANY respect for someone who doesn't care about the safety of his own children....unfortunately, just another selfish athlete....i am saddened by this....suspensions from the league won't do any good, taking away his drivers license wont do any good cuz he'll probably just drive without it anyways.....what needs to happen is they need to send him to mandatory parenting classes so that maybe he can learn to love and care about his children

Oh course they made it a bigger deal. He was only going 85. :pity:
