the commentors said only dwight was the only person in the whoole building that could do that, i personally think LeBron could and his there, and of course gerald could :)

I can officialy say it was not 12 feet. it was at the top of the box on the other Hoop making it 11 1/2 feet at max

i agree Lebron could. and maybe Even josh smith aswell.

Dwight can probably dunk it the highest. Lebron would be a couple inches shorter.

still1ballin
02-15-2009, 12:06 AM
It's not even a hard dunk for him. He should of put it 2 or 3 more ft higher then it would be a big WOW. The rim was 12 ft. Dwight is 7 ft and with him reaching up he would be at 9 ft. So he basically had to jump 3 ft. That is why he did it so easy.

tsb77
02-15-2009, 12:06 AM
scal can of course

i think lebron can do it

Randomsportsfan
02-15-2009, 12:38 AM
i def think lebron could because i heard somewhere that he can grab a quarter off the top of the back board. ( dont know if that is true)

Chicagofaithful
02-15-2009, 12:47 AM
a 36" vertical is still relatively impressive

Jacob K.

a 36" vertical is still relatively impressive

hes in the dunk contest, i dont want it to be relatively impressive

King Henrik
02-15-2009, 12:54 AM
i wasnt impressed with this. show me 14 feet and id be impressed. he did a basic dunk on a 12 foot rim. considering how tall he is and the length of his arms i expected more.

02-15-2009, 12:55 AM
They mentioned Lebron right away, but then they said no way... I tend to believe them. I mean 12ft are u kidding? If anyone else can do it, I would put my money on Lebron, but I'm not so sure.

cubulls
02-15-2009, 12:58 AM
Tyrus Thomas easily.

cubfan23
02-15-2009, 01:01 AM
this dunk competition sucked. When he first brought it out me and someone else thought he'd do a 2 handed dunk to both hoops.

dre1990
02-15-2009, 01:17 AM
I bet Rudy Gay could do it.

DJYankee
02-15-2009, 01:23 AM
I say Lebron and Kobe can give it a try.

NYKnickFanatic
02-15-2009, 01:29 AM
Dwight is 7 foot. Dunking on a 12 foot rim isnt very exciting.
Maybe a guy that is like 6'5 dunking on a 12 foot rim, ok, then thats something.

But to answer your question, no, he is NOT the only one who can.
LeBron and J-Smoove and Gay could easily do it.

AccUrSeD
02-15-2009, 01:35 AM
I thought Rudy Fernandez had the best dunks in the contest. He got JIPPED! Nate Robinson's dunks were ****ing pathetic aside from jumping over dwight howard for his last dunk, how he won, I don't know!

Hotone1401
02-15-2009, 01:37 AM
I say Lebron and Kobe can give it a try.

Ha ha! There is no way Kobe dips a 12 ft. rim. I never really considered Kobe to be super athletic like Lebron so I doubt he could ever do it in his younger years. Lebron can do it for sure. So could Josh Smith, Tyrus Thomas, Andrew Bynum, VC (in his younger days) & maybe Travis Outlaw and Gerald Wallace.

i was a globetrotters game in winnipeg mb last year, and i asked showtime how high jamario moon could jump, and he said that he has seen him dunk at 13.5 feet. I gotta believe the guy. And damn.. thats high. I could see it though. He has amazing hops.

TMAC94
02-15-2009, 01:51 AM
i think gerald green can, along with james white and maybe jamario moon, theyy all have massive hops

_Sn1P3r_
02-15-2009, 01:53 AM
I think LeBron can dunk on that and Joe Alexander.

SpeedReed
02-15-2009, 01:55 AM
dwight howard doing a weak 2 handed dunk at 11' is not nearly as impressive as any other dunk in the entire contest. especially considering nate under 6' dunking 10'.

and why was there never and time restraint for all of dwights antics? the dunk contest has turned into a joke.

i want to see true athletes dunk with power and finess. no more jokes please. and if you miss an attempt it's an automatic point deduction. (per miss)

SuperDayv
02-15-2009, 02:09 AM
Is Dwight dunking on a 12 foot rim just as impressive as Nate dunking on a regular rim? He's about two feet taller than Nate, as was the rim.

thedfactor
02-15-2009, 02:13 AM
LeBron could probably. Wouldn't put it pass Josh Smith.

TMAC94
02-15-2009, 02:14 AM
and considering he is like what 5.8 and can dunk over a 7 foot player even tho he had to use his arm, thatss pre good

greg_ory_2005
02-15-2009, 03:00 AM
Mike James could dunk on that rim sitting down.

Kyben36
02-15-2009, 03:07 AM
There is one guy coming out of Colege that could do it. Tyrler Hasbrough. He can do anything.

MooseWithFleas
02-15-2009, 03:12 AM
Next year, Howard needs to dunk on 15ft :laugh2:

THE MTL
02-15-2009, 03:19 AM
I dont care about that 12ft crap cause It aint impressive. He is darn near seven feet with a ridiculous wingspan. If Nate Robinson was 6'4" I bet he could do 12 ft.

DerekRE_3
02-15-2009, 03:59 AM

no i def think josh smith, bron cause their 6'8 6'9 , vince? maybe 7 years ago.

Outlaw is 6'9 with a 7'0 wingpsan and has a 40+ inch vert, I'm sure he could do it.

Tyson Chandler anybody?

He's 7'1 and has pretty good athleticism...

MiamiHeat
02-15-2009, 10:36 AM
Mark Blount could easily do it :)

But Yeah I'm pretty sure Lebron could do it

we'll have to wait until next year and see
he is going to try 13 ft

I heard Lebron will do 13 feet next year

jetsfan28
02-15-2009, 11:25 AM
lebron could easily do it

He's 6 feet, 8 inches tall. His vertical is about 44 inches, so that gets him up to about 10 feet 4 inches tall. He can probably do it, but I doubt he can do it easily.

J-Relo
02-15-2009, 11:26 AM
Earl Boykins could do that -> do you remember that guy? lol

well from bigs >>> Amare, Chandler...

wings >>> Lebron, Smith, that Mandarin guy from Bucks you didn't make Slam DUnk and so on...

guards >>> Green, White...

02-15-2009, 12:01 PM
I think Nat 5'7 doing the things he does on 10ft hoop is more impressive then Dwight 7 ft dunking normally on a 12 ft hoop.

Preuss-is-right
02-15-2009, 12:05 PM
They used to say Clyde Drexler could dunk on 12ft rim.

I wonder if Lebron could dunk from the three point line.

I mean common sense and human logic tells me its impossible.

But Lebron running full speed and putting all his strength onto his left leg......

But would you not agree that Dwight easily could have gone higher? Maybe even a foot or more higher; he did whatever height the hoop was at with ease. Because of how easy it seemed I found it underwhelming, and I think he easily could have done higher.

3-point line dunk would be amazing, for anyone

yea because jumping 36 inches is real easy , especially for a 7 footer. his vert is prob around 40 at most.

michael wilson dunked on 12 feet before and he is only 6'6.

Mike James would laugh at the 12 foot rim on his way to the 20 foot rim.

A prime Shawn Kemp can EASILY dunk on 12 ft.
