No More Need 4 Sheed?
by Ngozika Nwaneri

As the NBA trade deadline approaches, there's been more and more talk about Phoenix Suns forward Ama're Stoudemire packing his bags for the Motor City. Sources close to PASPN.net have the Pistons sending forwards Rasheed Wallace, Amir Johnson and a future first round draft pick to the Suns in exchange for Stoudemire and Matt Barnes. Ama're, in a one-on-one interview with Don Shane of WXYZ-TV Detroit this past Sunday said he would love to play in Detroit.
It's no secret the Pistons are actively shopping Rasheed Wallace who is in the last year of a five-year deal signed after the Pistons won their third franchise championship in the 2003-04 season. Rasheed came to the Pistons before the NBA's trading deadline February 19th, 2004 and could very well see his time in Detroit run out 5-years to the day. Late last week it was rumored that Wallace could be headed to L.A. before the Lakers sent Vladimir Radmanovic to the Bobcats for Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown. The Pistons are one of several Eastern Conference teams interested in Ama're. The Bulls have expressed interest, however the Pistons present the best opportunity to compete for a championship this season.

The NBA's trading deadline this year is February 19th, 2009.

besides the obvious question mark thing, the article is old(from the 9th)and the rumor mill kept on going since then, with many of them saying that such thing has cooled off since the 9th...

The Suns turned down Wally, JJ Hickson, and a 1st rounder from the Cavs, so I highly doubt they would take an aging Rasheed over a highly touted rookie.
