View Full Version : Should David West be suspended for hard foul? If so how many games?

David West was ejected from tonight's game against the Timberwolves. He gave Mike Miller a pretty tough blow to the back of the head.

What do you think the NBA should do?

Here's the clip:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7sovyb4Cpg

EDIT: Now that you've made a judgment weather or not West should be suspended or not, look at Perkins' hit on Jason Maxiel. Personally I thought Perkins' was going to get suspended, but he didn't, so basically what I'm asking is, do you think West should be suspended if Perkins was not? I thought their hits we're pretty similar. Both were not going for the ball at all and they both hit their "victim" on the head/neck area.

http://ballhype.com/video/kendrick_perkins_flagrant_foul_on_jason_maxiell/

Obviously this will be subjective because some of us think both of these hits were "weak" and others will think these are "tough" hits. Depending who you are...

Yeah, it was obviously out of frustration. He should have honestly thought about his team before doing that. The Hornets will be without Chandler and possibly CP3 (Groin) already. Now they're most likely going to be without West as well...

It's made even worse by the fact that it was out of frustration, and that's practically a punch. He's gonna be hit hard by the league for that one.

Wow!!!!!!!!! David West wasn't even trying to hit the ball either man...I bet nothing happens to West either because that's how David Stern rolls.

Holy ****! that was a hard blow to the neck! he wasn't clearly going for the ball on that play, that's for sure. Looks like he wanted to take off Miller's head. That should be a suspension. That was a dirty play. I never thought D West would do something like that.

To be honest, I think the NBA has no choice but to suspend him. It was way too blatant and he hit him on the head/neck.

Then again, I really thought Perkins was going to get suspended after his hit as well. I think David West's was a bit worse, but Perkins' hit wasn't too far off from West's.

Here's Perkins' hit: http://ballhype.com/video/kendrick_perkins_flagrant_foul_on_jason_maxiell/ :ouch:

Now that I look at it, Perkins' hit was just as bad as West's in my opinion. Maybe they won't suspend West...

Who knows

How did it build up to that play?

David West thought he was fouled on the other end. He was pretty ticked as you can see for yourself...

don't suspend him. better solution: take him out of the all star game and put in somebody that actually deserves it, like Al Jefferson.

He didn't argue enough to lead me to believe that, but I'm sure that's what he'll say prior to the decision.

What they edited out was David West climbing the turn buckle and dropping a lethal elbow while Miller was still trying to recover.

The thing is he doesn't care much about playing in the all-star game as he stated on the Jim Rome tv show.

That was a cowardly behind the back punk _ _ _ move. I hope he gets hammered.

Well, he got a one-game suspension. Cheap-*** suspension, Stern. Are you saying a flagrant like that = the suspensions Amare/Diaw got in the playoffs due to the Horry hipcheck on Nash? Seriously? Unbelievable.

I was watching that game and thought it was a hard foul when it happened. He didn't show any remorse either. It was uncalled for he took that guys head off. Three games!

LOL he just whacked him. I don't think he even knew where the ball was.

Come on guys. Perkins' hit was just as bad. Can't suspend David for this one.

I'd say make an example of him, you can't have players doin that kind of thing 5 games, players get 1 for a hard foul this was just rediculous, hitting a defensless player in the back of the head.

He "attacked Dirk face to face" Really?

Yes, and Dirk is known all around the league as someone you don't want to get in his face because he will think bad thoughts about you if you do. What a joke, yes this makes pussified West really tough. Because he can challenge the soft german with no street cred.

He's the only one who stands up to KG? Really? Try L.O., Rasheed Wallace, just to name a few off the top of my head.

And what the hell does Stephan Jackson, Shaq or Artest have anything to do with a punk _ _ _ move of attacking a man from behind?

What kind of argument is that, it has nothing to do with attacking a man when he isn't looking, your argument makes no sense and yes West is still a punk _ _ _ coward.

The NBA is generally consistent on suspending when there is a wind-up and follow-through directed at an opponents head. I'm surprised Perkins didn't get suspended for a game or two.

Wow what a way to name 4 other punks. Not to mention all of them are bigger than Miller.
