View Full Version : Why aren't the hornets making a play for Amare or Bosh.

The hornets have been dissapointing this season - they're a few steps back from their suprise season last year.
They need an upgrade in the low post and the SG position.
Why not trade David West + fillers, picks for either Amare (who is on the block) or Bosh (who has been rumored in trades this week)

I think either of them would elevate the hornets and bring them back in the hunt for the title.

I would take david west over amare anyday. west has a winner's attitude and the heart to work at his game and make himself better.

they main need is SG. If they could get a dynamic 2, they would be easily the best team in the west.

First of all who could the Hornets trade? They really do not have any standout player besides Paul, West, and Tyson. Peja is all right but hes a SG playing as a SF. I say sign Jamal Crawford this coming summer. Peja is a FA in the great 2010 class so you add some scoring for a year and then possibly trade Peja for Hedo Turkoglu(sign and trade). If the Magic can't offer him enough money they could do it to get a one year rental for basically the same product. The Hornets do it bc they're not gonna want to re-up a 32 year old Peja in 2010 and Hedo is younger + more athletic/dynamic. AS much as I would hate to see a Tyson, West, Turk, Crawford, and Paul starting five it would be pretty cool. I mean I am a Nugs fan so this might screw me over, lol.

I think they need a SG right now more than another low post scorer right now

How do you know it isn't?

Most trades in the NBA, or at least for the Lakers, come from nowhere.

Why trade David West? He won't even demand half as much as Bosh or Amare will.

They are over the cap and rumors are they are sellers not buyers; Look for NO to dump players and salaries, not buy.

Because the Hornets have no one of value, as far as the Suns are concerned, to offer for Amar'e.

The same goes for Bosh and Toronto.

West is a nice player. I like him. He is older, slower, not any better on defense, and has a longer contract.

And the hornets really have no young players of any worth. I like Hilton Armstrong, and Wright, but they are not enough to get a deal done.

This is a lateral move. They need to deal Chandler. He's been regressing since last season.

I'm surpirsed you NO fans don't even know the news about your own team. It has been well publisized that NO is over the cap and in a salary dump. It has been rumored they will dump Chandler for salary cap reasons. They are gonna dump players and salary not pick up new ones. Attendance is down, revenue is down and breaking up the team is next.

Who says they're not? Teams are wise not to go public with trade pieces.

Yeah according to a freaking rival GM and you don't know anything about the hornets anyway. The Hornets are bringing in more revenue now than they ever have and last year they made money when expected to lose money, they are still trying to get better and not regress, if they start getting worse again and trade good for bad the revenue will just take a dive. They are #8 in merchandise sales right in the middle with attendance and have great TV and Radio deals. The hornets are doing just fine with money but just don't want to pay too much luxury tax in the future.
