Minor league, you've got nothing to lose. It's the Dodgers who are the major losers on this one.

If he can make the team, that means he did something right in Spring Training or in AAA. And then you've got to factor in how great of a hitters park Texas is. I'm not saying he'll be great, but he could regain some kind of form.

Worst case scenerio is that he sucks in spring training and you cut him.

Best is that he has a great spring and he can take advantage of the cozy confines in Texas. Maybe even be able to trade him if he does well.

As Tragedy alluded to.....the only loser in all of this is the Dodgers.

Andruw Jones just turned down a Yankee minor league deal. Why would he accept a Ranger deal? That makes no sense to me.

Maybe he felt like he had a better shot at hitting the major league roster with the Rangers than the Yankees? I don't know.

Because he knows he won't make the Yankees outfield/DH cluster**** of players. He has a much better shot of making it with the Rangers.

Andruw Jones should worry more about actually being able to play in the major leagues.

if he can't hit in Arlington, then we know he is done.

This is very true. This has got to be his final chance. He better be working out and trying to cut some of that fat off of his body in preparation of making this team. He's putting himself in a solid situation - Low expectations in Texas, surrounded by a bunch of kids, and a ballpark that loves allowing home runs.

He might have a shot at DH against lefties, but even then, Texas lineup is just as good, and just as deep as NY. No one knows why he chose Texas, but I honestly don't think it was for playing time. With Hamilton, Cruz, Murphy and Byrd in the OF, and Blalock at DH, Texas doesn't really have a huge need for hitting. We will see, I like minor league deals:clap:

If he wants to win comeback player of the year, Arlington is the best place for it.

After a few dismal seasons, and getting released, watch him break out this year so he can get a big contract next year, he does have Boras representing him.

Gotta love that, I would so take him on a Minor league deal. What's the wrong in that deal. I'd take Ocab, Crede, or just about any worthwhile vet at that type of decent offer. Andruw Jones is still a great defensive outfielder, and if he finds his bat even 20 % over last year you win.

He could really set back the Texas progress if he is able to come in, hit well enough to play, and then influence the clubhouse. He's an all about me kind of guy.
