View Full Version : Vokoun #1 Goalie

Sunrise - Coach Pete DeBoer's view that the Panthers have two starting goalies hasn't changed, but he acknowledged Tomas Vokoun has asserted himself as the top guy. Vokoun started for the eighth time in nine games Thursday against the Canadiens, coming into the game 5-1-2 in his past eight appearances with 204 saves on 221 shots.

"He's been good the second half. I thought last game he was our best player," DeBoer said after the morning skate. "And the reality of races like this is your best players have to be your best players.

"We know [Craig Anderson] is there and if we throw him in, he's capable of going on a six-, seven-, eight-game run, but Tomas is getting in a little bit of a zone where he's feeling comfortable. And we haven't overused him the first half of the year. ... We're going to keep going with him."

Craig is doing OK vs. Toronto, nice to see clearance

Vokoun was a stud Saturday night against the Bruins. He made some saves that I've never seena goalie do. he was stretched out sideways accross the net and kept the puck out with one of his legs, truly amazing. What a game.
