With the AAA team moving to Gwinnett, the fans here in Richmond no longer have our team. I just read that with a new mayor, Richmond has approved the building of a new ballpark for a minor league team. I was wondering if any chance that team could be another affiliate of the Braves? I loved going to braves games over the years and its really the only way i got to keep up with our farm system. The ballpark is set to open in 2012. Anyway AA mississippi could be a possible option for moving up or maybe the myrtle beach or rome teams? It just wont be the same having another organization here in richmond.

Our Myrtle Beach facility is relatively new and has good fan support so I doubt it. Logistically it would make sense for Richmond to be a Nationals or maybe an Orioles affiliate. Who knows.

Plus the team in rome is under contract for a while and our stadium here is liked by many of the teams they play here and we fought to get them here and rome and we will fight to keep them to.
