With bynum out 8-12 weeks, will the lakers finish with the number 1 seed or will it be someone else like the spurs or nuggets?

Lakers finished 1st last season without Bynum... I don't see how they can't do it again with a more-matured Gasol in the triangle now.. We'll have to see.. Ariza was injured for the Lakers too... But I can't read the future, that's just my opinion =]

I'm not knocking on any West teams, as ANY team is able to take the 1st place spot. Spurs have been playing good ball, so have the Nuggets. Only way to find out is when the season ends

So for now, i'll be a homer and take the Lakers as #1 still.

After LA traded for Gasol, they went 27-9 the rest of the season. Thats not that bad at all. I say they still finish top 3 seed.

I think they still take the #1 seed, but if Bynum doesn't get back and play healthy in the playoffs, the Spurs or Jazz will give them big problems. Manu was on one leg basically last year in the playoffs. If the Spurs are healthy, and the Jazz click, either can beat the Lakers. Big if's though

As much as it pains me to say it I still think the Lakers get the first seed. I hope the Nuggs can pull it off but I doubt it.

They will continue to dominate even without Bynum.

i think then lakers will finish first and this is y!

i think kobe will keep them in first because of these three reasons!

1. he feels bad because of what he did to bynum! and he wants to make up 4 it

2. he is determined to win the title this year and by that i mean he will play just like he

did in 05! he will average 33-35 ppg 6-7 reb and 5-7 assist!

3. He is KOBE!

(I think this will also boost his chance 2 win the MVP again )

There soft as a feather again. Lakers 3rd behind the Spurs and Nuggests. Billups for A.I was one of the best trades I have ever seen.

god i hope the lakers dont finish first so i can really rub it into my friends face, but i would love to see the rockets have a good second half and climbing and hope mcgrady, artest, and yao all stay healthy cause if they all are then they are a pretty damn good team and i think can contend with anyone in the west, but that is a big IF.

Lakers took 1st last year with the same squad so I don't see why they can't do it again this year.

They will still be first. They still got 2 stars on the team.

They might have enough cushion to keep the one seed. But there is no way they can get the overall best record. And that might hurt them if they make the finals.

Lakers still will. They did it last year without Bynum, so why not this year?

Lakers will still finish 1st then the Spurs then Nuggets

Lakers did it last year without Bynum but they are even better now with Ariza healthy and Powell is a beast.

Agreed the Lakers will keep the #1 seed in the west but the Celtics and Cavs will have better records, maybe even the Magic but they go on slides now and then.

Bynum said before this knicks game he starts his rehab in a week and will be practicing in 4 weeks, he said he will play a couple games at the end of the regular season to get kis rythem back so he's ready come playoff time!

Great News for Laker fans

Still think lakers get the 1st seed but lower overall record than cavs or C's...

Mmm i wonder why does anybody think lakers wont finish first.

1 The y finished first last year.

Improvements from last year even with bynum OUT

1 Gasol has a FULL season of triangle experience.

2 Farmar is more mature

3 Ariza is healthy

4 Odom will play for a contract.

Also bynumless and arizaless lakers took out easily JAzZ and SPURS

Jazz dont have Boozer anymore due to injury

Spurs have not gone younger.

What makes you think we wont make the FInals?

There is the great trouble

We wont beat bostons inside game with no Bynum

We wont beat Orlando with Howard.

We wont beat the Referees and David stern if the golden boy reaches the finals.

So we better hope bynum is back for the final ( or that we are able to get a good d center) or Pray for Pistons or Hawks to work out some kind of miracle.

we're 5 games ahead of the rest of the west, and we still have the killer lineup that went to the finals last year.

in my perspective, the Lakers can easily get 1st seed.

Only team that I can see taking the first seed is the Spurs.

1st seed Highest, 3rd seed lowest.
As long as Kobe is healthy the Lakers will be a Top 3 team.

The Poll question is different to the thread.

Lakers will take 1st.

Still believe they will be the sound #1 seed going into the playoffs, we'll see. Depends on how things go down the stretch.
