The preliminary diagnosis is that Bynum suffered a sprained right knee against Memphis Saturday and will miss the next six weeks. But it could be longer, and the damage could be more serious, pending results of an MRI taken yesterday in Manhattan.

Like I said in the offseason, and have been quoted in a sig for saying so, the lakers should have waited to see if this guy could make it through a full season without flopping on the ground with a bum knee. His contract is going to be brutal in the long run.

They said the same thing last season and it turned out that he sat out for the rest of the season last year.

Lets hope the Rockets stay healthy!

Now it is time to hear what people thing about young centers and how injury prone they are or how guys under 23 are busts.

Tough break for them. A lot of other teams have suffered their fair of injuries to one of their best players, now its the Lakers time to see how the team copes.

That would move Pau Gasol to center, and odom will get hi start at PF again i guess. Not sure how they will do with his absence, but last years they did pretty well.Though i hope they don't,get some losses, alsong with some losses by the celtics(hopefully),and there we go,cavs back on top of the NBA.:)

:ouch: That is gonna seriously hurt the Lakers. Bynum goes down, it may open the West right back up now!!!! :D They play NYK tonight, Toronto (2/4), Boston (2/5), Cleveland (2/8), Utah (2/11), Atlanta (2/17), New Orleans (2/20). Its gonna be hard for LAL to win quite a few of these games. The next few games will be interesting to see for the Lakers!

That's not an official report. It says the Lakers are still awaiting the MRI results, so I would take this one with a grain of salt.

Like I said in the Laker forum, the papers are speculating. Just like us...

How does this injury make you right at all? If it was to the same knee as last year, I could possibly see some relevance, but this was a fluke accident. It is just like the Greg Oden situation. A broken wrist, micro-fracture and a rolled ankle doesn't make him injury prone... they are all isolated flukes. For Bynum, going to the rim while a 220 lb guy falls into your knee isn't an indication that you are injury prone and this should have no bearing on his contract.

^haven't you figured it out yet? IT"S PHX-SOXFAN. He is the ****! We all value his opinion! He is the wisest one on here and has been for years...

the report is just speculating... it doesnt have anything official from the results

even if it is true this is still the lakers team that made it to the finals last year.

Hopefully the Lakers don't get unlucky and have him out for the entire season. It doesn't look like it is going to be that way.

Although, the Lakers still are the best team in the West without Bynum.

Hater.
Enjoy the Lakers this season because they are still the best in the West with or without Bynum.

They are also 1-0 against the Celtics.

Guess what? They are also 1-0 against the Cavs this year.
They look good. Enjoy KB24 and Lakers for the next few seasons because they will be on top for awhile. LeBron is going to have wait his turn.
