JJF'S TAKE:

This game would be much easier to face coming off of a hearty rout of the Bucks, that's for sure. I don't need to break the Magic squad down- we know what Dwight does and that Hedo, Jameer and 'Shard can all score and create. Going to be a tough tough game- Bosh needs to attack ALL NIGHT LONG, either backing down Lewis or taking Dwight off the bounce. Same with Bargs- it would be great if he could lure Dwight to the perimeter to take away a couple of the boards he is liable to pull down. JO needs to be on, too, and be a force against Dwight on both ends, ideally. Aside from that, the Raptors squad has to play to their absolute potential with fluidity on offense and cohesiveness on D. Only if they do all those things do they stand a chance at beating this team.

Its true, but the team that played against Milwaukee will get blown out of the water by the Magic, hence the "gloom and doom" mentality.

But yeah, its happened before, it can happen again. I suppose you could say the Raptors have "beat" the Magic 1.5 times of the 2 meetings this year- they won in both senses last time, and the time before that, while losing by 13, they "held" Dwight to 18, 9 and a foulout, which is half the battle right there.

I think this will be a hard one. Orlando is a very good team and have lot's a great piece to make it far. But as we saw last time they met, the Raps got the best of them, I think the two main key have to be CB4 and CALDERON, if Jose can have a high scoring game I think TO can take it. Just hope JO can stay pain free and have a good game.

BTW, hope the Cards take it over Pittsburgh.

How the hell is a game starting at 12? Has there ever been a game start at 12 in the last couple of seasons? I had probelms with 1 o'clock starts and right when I get into the zone with the 1 pm games they start going to 12:30. And now its 12? So now I have to wake up even earlier to watch them lose? Has there been a 12 pm game this year yet?

Triano's coaching mistakes is costing us games. freakin Bosh is struggling and he waits till 4minutes left to bring in JO. we're down by 21. After oneal comes in, we score 6 straight.

I don't know about trading JO anymore, he does bring interior defense, even if its the littlest , its more than the Raps ever had these last 3 years. Maybe its time to play Jawaii!

Think long term. The team needs talent. JO is a trading chip. Save him for the off-season and then get the best we can for him. Problem is that in the meantime it will cut into Bargnani's minutes.

Maybe they should try a frontcourt of JO and Bargs. Good inside outside.

when he was in miami, he had wade and shaq to draw the defence so that he can be open. He was only effective in my opinion when we had ford playing with him.

I know what you're saying, but they know they don't have the talent to compete with this team. They also seem to give up when Jose can't play. Not that he's the be-all and end-all, it's just that it must be frustrating to play with PG's that won't get you the ball.

You know, I was watching this game getting frustrated about how much the Raptors suck, and it's not just how much they suck but how much they realize how much they suck and decide not to even try. OKC Thunder suck as well but I always see them trying, but the Raptors are above the idea of effort.

However, I decided to stop being frustrated in favour of a little laugh, and this is what I thought about: Bosh thought he could be MVP at the beginning of the year. His effort today has been absolutely pathetic and I couldn't help but laugh at a guy that could be so mislead about his own talents.

To me that was the biggest mistake he made this season. Right after declaring he wanted to be MVP and felt like he could be one... his whole game deteriorated. The only thing he can do is be patient and make the right deal. The draft is not such a bad option for a rebuilding franchise. This is back to the drawing board time.

All that said, I STILL don't have a pessimistic outlook about this. Rebuilding teams go through **** like this. No matter how bleak it looks, the team does have three good players -- no matter what the haters say after losses.

Here's the thread (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297554) from the time Bosh declared himself an MVP candidate.

Read the thread and see what people said at the time. I absolutely agree that it's the biggest mistake he made this season and a few of us said so right away. For those who thought it was a good idea to declare your desire to win MVP, think of what you said then, and think of how screwed up Bosh's head has been since. Worst mistake a player could ever make. No one in their right mind does that.

Yea it seems a large sense of apathy is settling in with the Raptors. I can understand losing to a better team, but there is NO excuse for a team not to come out and play hard. It seemed our team mailed it in after the Magic went up double digits in the second half settling for even more jumpshots early in the shot clock. Im not sure at this point who is going to fire this team up. Dark days for this organization.

The big question about Bosh's big MVP mistake was whether he has learned from it. TJ made the same mistake last year, setting his sights on the All Star game and had a brutal season. When will these guys ever learn?

So are we at the point where a win is bad and a loss is good? Or is that point going to be at the end of the next 3 games or month?

once again bosh only gets like 2 points in the paint. we IMO, need to re-build the franchise. trade off everyone, and keep only maybe bargs and jose. Trade away bosh, jo, parker, kapono, everyone. WE GOTTA REBUILD!

i jus hope we don't finish the season like the maple usally do...you all know what i mean they suck for the majority of the season and in the last couple months they make a push for the playoffs but come up short by a couple games which then affects them because they barely miss the playoffs and then they don't get a high draft pick..i have a feeling thats how the raptors will end the season

I would trade him, but i'm not sure about what we would get in return in terms of young players, like an OJ Mayo type player, Bosh isn't the leader this team needs and imo needs to leave just like you said but we need to wait for FA so BC can bring in a TRUE allstar who can lead this team to the finals. We should have just got Derrick MArtin to be our interim coach :pity:

Haha thanks, I'm watching Raptors Game In An Hour. There was like no effort by the Raps and I love how Stan is constantly pushing and yelling at his players even if they're up by 20.

one thing i like about stan is that no matter the score or how good ur playing he wants you to play better he calls out howard all the time....honestly i want jay to have some balls and call out bosh..if he did i would have so much respect for him

the best coaches call out their players. they show no fear towards even their best players. Some coaches are reluctant to call out their best players because of losing them.
You don't play for the players, the players play for you.

I was at the game today and it was by far the worst raptor game I have ever been too. The fans were booing the players all 3rd and 4th quarters...I have no idea why Soloman was playing at all in the 2nd half. The Team had no interest in contesting shots, steping in the lane to take a charge, boxing out, moving their feet on defense. The game was plain terrible.. The raps should be embarassed afer taking that beating!

I honestly think Jay traino has to get mad more often.

If you see Gundy yelling at his team when they were up 20? We need someone like that.
I was watching that yesterday and thinking the same thing. Stan was pissed and I don't know, I never see Jay pissed at his team. He gets angry at refs but I would also like to see him get more angry.

I saw some of you talking about a particular fan who I never noticed. Could this guy be the fan you are referring to:

and Bosh pointed out that at least one person in the Air Canada Centre wasn't booing him.

"He was still sitting there, (pumping his fists), saying, `Come on! Let's go!'" said Bosh of the unwavering supporter.

Times aren't yet bad enough for Noel Bosh Chris's courtside-sitting father to join in the chorus of outrage.

"That," said Bosh, considering the prospect of catcalls from the parental unit, "would really be the pits."
