They are IMO the two best 2nd basemen in the league. Who do you guys think is better?

Utley just because he is a little bit older and has more experience

Utley is the best 2b in mlb

Utley is much better for the stat sheet.

Pedroia's major impact doesn't show up in those stats.

Utley's the better player by far.

Pedroia is a good player, but Utley is the better player - offensively and defensively.

Different style players. For the next few years have to go w/ Utley, but for next 12? Give me the kid.

Also Utley is overrated as a fielder, I'll take the kid right now on that front.

Overrated as being the best defensive 2B in the game is what you meant right?

pretty sure you could say the same thing about utley's impact.

Im not saying he is better, but keep an eye out for Ian Kinsler. He's only 26 and put of stats close to Utley.

Utley, he is a better hitter, and yeah, he's overrated in fleiding, but he can field. He can smash out 30 HR's any year he wants too. Pedroai is a club house leader, and I think the next captain of the Red Sox...

Noway not right now. Maybe in the future but right now it belongs to Utley

Pedroia is the future.

The kid has done EVERYTHING in his first two seasons.

Defensively Kinsler is a bottom 5 2B, he'll never be as good as Utley.

No.

you're an idiot. utley leads the phillies team just as much as pedroia leads the sox. oh, and whose leadership lead to a championship ?

Pedroia led his team to a WS too.

Let's not compare who's a better "leader," that's just getting ridiculous since neither of you really know (unless you're in the clubhouse).

Give Pedroia a few years. It's just his second or third year in the league. I unfortunately vote Utley.

Whoa...i'm an idiot?

I didn't bash Utley at all.

When I referenced Pedroia's impact not showing up on the stat sheet, it's because of the little things he does on the field. I wasn't referencing leadership qualities at all.

I don't know why you're attacking me.

I said "Utley is the better player by far".

And Pedroia did have a HUGE impact on the Red Sox's championship run. Definitely, not a no-name rookie.

You're an idiot for calling me an idiot for an unknown reason.

in that boston club house he was a no body. manny, ortiz, beckett, dice k, wakefield varitek. all bigger names or bigger leaders than pedroia. that was/has been varitek's team for years. pedroia was a nice role player in 2007.

no mets fan can ever make fun of anyone else. nice collaspe 07 & 08.

Hands down Utley. But it's also worth noting that Utley's five years older. Who knows what kind of numbers Pedroia will be putting up when he enters his prime.

Utley is one hell of a fielder for a lefty thrower playing second, he's also very consistant
