It seems as if the Lakers, Spurs, Hornets, and Nuggets are slowly starting to break away from the lower seeds of the West. Although teams are very tight in this conference, it looks like it will be a battle between Portland, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, and Utah for the 5-8 seeds.

Who doesn't make it?

5. Portland [27-17] 8.0 GB

6. Houston [28-18] 8.0 GB

7. Phoenix [25-18] 9.5 GB

8. Dallas [25-19] 10.0 GB

9. Utah [25-21] 11.0 GB

Yeah I agree with you. They have just been way to inconsistent this season.

Dallas just is falling apart.

This is a great time for them to rebuild though, they have pieces people want, Trade Dirk to the cavs for Wally JJ hickson andy V and a **** load of picks.

I know that would never happen, but wow the cavs would be stacked.

But seriously the Mavs need to reuild their window is closed, get some nice pieces while teams still want the players you have, don't try to hang on when your just stuck with ****.

Utah especially because it looks like Boozer may sit out the year.

I said Dallas. but I wouldn't be surpised if we weren't able to make the playoffs. one more injury we are pretty much done for the year.

Too, Too early to call. As of Jan. 28, only 5 games separated #2 Spurs from #9 Jazz. Anything can happen. But if i had to guess, I'd go with the Jazz based on the AK and Boozer injuries!

Nothing against them, but I say Utah. I wouldn't be suprised if Houston found their way though.

We're already in the second half of the season.

How many games has it been??

And Dallas has been healthy while Utah has been missing one of their main players, and yet is only a couple games behind.
