Allen vs Kapono should be fun to watch.

Regarding who I think should be in it. The homer in me thinks it doesn't matter, cause JKilla is going to win another 3 point championship.

Anthony Morrow is leading the NBA in 3pt%.. he definitely deserves a spot in this competition.

Bobby Brown!!! He better be in it.

sorry man, but you do realize Bobby is shooting 34% from the 3 pt line this year? He was money earlier in the season though.

01-28-2009, 02:25 AM
Jose Calderon has been pretty money and has the second best percentage. Plus he's hit 11 more 3's than Morrow.

id like to see matt bonner and jason terry in the contest

KG2TB
01-28-2009, 02:31 AM
I think Ben Gordon would have an excellent shot to win it. If he really got hot, he could set some records. I don't know why he's not in it.

Terry has to be in it to me, he's amazing this year.

Ironically, Jason Kidd is shooting a higher percentage from 3-point range than Jason Terry.

BarryIsInnocent

Anthony Morrow will win it if selected to shoot. Quick compact stroke and misses about half the time.

They do- last year's lineup was Gibson, Hamilton, Kapono, Nash, Dirk, Peja
2007 was- Arenas, Damon Jones, Kapono, Mike Miller, Dirk and Terry

Pretty healthy contingent of veterans in there...

The guy has played a grand total of 92 NBA minutes and taken a total of 15 threes, making 6. He has even hit two in the same game twice!! He is a great choice for this competition.

:eyebrow:

Doesn't mean he doesn't have a sweet stroke. Not going to be any defense for the contest so as much as you're justified on the minutes I know he can shoot with the best of them.

I'd personally love to see Andrea Bargnani in it. He can be an extremely streaky shooter and if he gets his first one in, I wouldn't be surprised if he could win that contest.

jrice9
01-28-2009, 05:42 PM
Well the raptors have a bunch of guys who could do it

Kapono (2 time defending champ)
Parker (numbers are down this year though)
Calderon (one of the best 3 point shooters in the league)
Bargnani (Wow oh wo has he been hot and he would be the big guy of the event like Dirk or Peja)

Kakaroach
01-28-2009, 09:34 PM
Lets see
1. Jason Kapono
2. Ray Allen
3. Rager mason
4. Anthony Morrow
5. Jason Richardson
All of those guys are terrific 3-point shooters

I don't really want him in there. I don't want to mess with a good thing, and i feel like the competition could somehow mess with his stroke or confidence.

Dequean Cook deserves a spot in this years 3 point contest!! He got snubbed for the rookie/sophomore challenge but thats a diff story. Hes 2nd in most threes made since January only behind Rashard Lewis and in front of Ray Allen.

Now besides him i'd like to see Rashard Lewis, Ray Allen, and Roger Mason to go in with Kapono.

Super.
01-28-2009, 11:12 PM
Screw Ray Allen

EDDIE HOUSE!
(he hit 8, 8 3's off the bench and had 28 pts!! tonight!)

Kobe should definitely do it. He was all signed up for it before his injury last season and it was probably the most anticipated event of the weekend because of it. Hell, LBJ and Wade should do it as well! Allstar weekend is all about entertainment right? Wouldn't you rather see these guys go at it rather than a bunch of scrubs?

Love to see KB24 do it too but do you think he can/would with his recently dislocated finger? Wouldn't surprise me one bit though. "Machine" would be great.

That's like wishing LeBron was in the dunk competition. NOT HAPPENING
