James responds to Barry: Hall-of-Famer Rick Barry criticized James for not improving his jumper earlier this week on Bay Area television. James finally gave his response.

"Can't say nothing about Rick, Rick could shoot the ball, nobody can shoot like Rick," James said. "Everyone is going to critique players instead of trying to help them."

Actually, James can shoot it like him and better. Barry's career field-goal percentage in the NBA and ABA was .455, including .296 on 3-pointers. James is currently shooting .469 for his career and .321 on 3-pointers.

Doesn't seem like James understood what Barry was saying... He wasn't critizising LeBron but his coaches who are unable to help him improving... And I think it's obvious that he didn't imrove his jumper thaaat much.
So I guess Barry was right about what he said.

Haha, that last part was ironic. He's shooting a better % right now. Granted Rick played more games, but still pretty funny.

I'm glad that he respected Rick Barry's opinion and didn't say anything. But LBJ is right though, no one can shoot like Rick, especially in the FT. And the last part was hilarious.

Yea, but what kind of shots was Rick taking when compared to LeBron? LeBron drives the lane alot, I guarantee that if LeBron took the shots that Rick did he would have a lower fg%. LeBron is the better player, but Rick was the better shooter

better % doesn't mean better shooter, but lebron is def the better player and barry has no room to critique him.

You can't say Lebron is shooting better on FGs than Rick. His FG percentage is mostly dunking on people so that's not a reliable way to compare their shooting. But other than that this really holds no meaning (the whole feud that is).

For the Moment Rick> Lebron.

He is a former Mvp and Former Champion.

2 or 3 years from here Lebron can be better than Rick

but for the moment, he should listen, it can only do good fir him to listen to any advice he gets from such a pro.

Nearly every NBA analyst is an ex-NBA player...

Uhhh, they aren't going to hire a current NBA player to be an analyst during the season...how much sense would that make?

He is right that LeBron's jumper is not that great, but he is still a great player. His game is just not complete, which is why Kobe is the best player in the league.

it helps lebrons fg when 80% of his scoring comes off dunks hahhaa

i dont understand how people like this guy
he really thinks he is a king

Agreed, I think Rick is better, but Lebron still has a long time to develop his game and become an all-time great. As far as Rick's comments, I just look at them as constructive criticism....

uh didnt rick barry say he would like to help lebron with his shooting stroke. he also said what was wrong with it. his right elbow is out too far when he shoots. so he wasnt just being a critic as lebron said he was also trying to help.

I always thought Rick Barry was lights out from beyond the arc. (I guess cause Brent and Jon are such great shooters) I Guess he wasn't used to shooting fromm the 3 point line when it was first introduced.

And why does whether someone is in the league now have to do with their being right?
Lebron has been the best in the NBA for 2 years but all players have areas they can improve in and I agree with Barry.

Rick Barry was awesome by the way.

Magic lacked D, Jordan lacked three point shoot, Kareem lacked rebounding ( a bit but yet journalist always picked on his effort for the rebound) ,Wilt lacked court vision.

So what?

Lebron is no god.
