Here are a few lower tier-non respected teams worth taking a look at this year..

Virginia Military Keydets--With Travis and Chavis Holmes leading the way I could see a potential first round upset from the highest scoring team in the nation.

Liberty Flames--With Seth Curry at the helm anything is possible

VCU--Eric "The Dagger" Maynor pulled one off against Duke a couple years back, now with more support I woulnt be surprised if we saw another one.

UTEP--Not having the season expected, but with Stefon Jackson and Randy Culpepper, they could make a run at the Conference USA title.

Siena-- This team has plenty of players who pitch in points. Ryan Rossiter, Edwin Ubiles, Alex Franklin, Ronald Moore, and Kenny Hasbrouck is a very solid 5. They will need a bench though.

Tennessee Martin-- Lester Hudson....enough said.

Of course, Davidson themselves are always capable of a run.
What do you guys think?

Are you serious? Can we get off the Curry brothers' ****? My god, neither are all that impressive and extremely overrated. Of your list, Tennessee Martin and VCU are the best options. Others to consider are Illinois State, who could end up winning the Missouri Valley, St. Mary's, and George Mason. I'd say St. Mary's is the top candidate with how well they are playing and the kind of tradition they've had the past few years. I'd put George Mason and Illinois State a close second, followed by Tennessee Martin and VCU.

St. Mary's is ranked nationally so i didnt include them. and the Curry brothers are good, they just get a lot of recognition. They are both great scorers and are each on solid teams. I think VMI will pull an upset.

Tennessee-Martin really hasn't shown anything to indicate they're going to make a NCAA run. Virginia Military, Siena and VCU are all possibilities, and I'd throw Buffalo (MAC) and St. Mary's (WCC) into the discussion as well.

Liberty isn't very good. VMI is a good call, because they have a bunch of scorers.

I'll add some:

Temple/whoever other than Xavier comes out of the A10 (Dayton/UMass/St. Joe's)
College of Charleston in Davidson's conference
Whoever comes out of America East
Eastern Tennessee State
Illinois State
Cornell
Buffalo/Miami OH
UWashington. Even though they're a major, they're not talked about very much, but they're dangerous
North Dakota State. Two dangerous scorers in Ben Woodside and Brett Winkelman
Utah State
Probably my #1 sleeper is Portland State

UNLV I think is another possibility.

Coming from 13 down AT BYU and win really says something.

I only attended two years at Temple from 99-00 , I got to see Pepe and Lynn Greer play quite a few times. The Orangle Bowl classic was such a thrill. They hung around for a while. I probably saw you since there was only about 10 temple fans there...

There were more than that, we were just scattered and outnumbered.

So you started at Temple, right?

St. Mary's, if they're not already well known enough. Patty Mills>Steph Curry

I love this one, really agree, as difficult as it is for me to say this as a Hawks fan Temple is nasty this year as is Dayton. Unlike every other year, I think Dunphy and the Owls could reallllly shock the country, and Dayton looked great though I watched them against an average SJU.

I went to the SJU/ Cornell game and That is one well coached team. They could give a 2/3 seed a real run this year

I'm glad you think so, but it's not our year. We're hanging with everyone--Tennessee, Xavier, Kansas, but we're not beating the worse teams we play. Our RPI is good enough to get us one of the last spots, but we're probably going to need to win the A10 again. Dayton has a better record, but they haven't played anyone.

We have one good guy coming in next year, but we're in need of a good recruiting class. We dont have the depth to win the A10 or do anything in the tournament.

Cornell is a solid team, and could definitely surprise people.

CAA Champs. Whoever comes out of that conference is usually a pretty tough out for any team. Unfortunately my UNCW Seahawks are complete garbage.

I said it, but watch out for VMI, because they can flat out score. They play no D, though.
Cmon BU!!!!!! :D
Watch out for whoever comes out of the CAA. VCU has the best scorer in Maynor, but their other options are not great. Northeastern could surprise.
Watch out for Wisconsin Green Bay if they can get in

That's going to be pretty tough when they have a terrible rpi and non-conference schedule. Then you got to factor in that they lost to a terrible Loyola team and split to the only team better than them in the conference, Butler. The only way that happens is if they win the conference championship and the way that works is the winner of the regular season host the tourney. Unless a miracle happens, the Horizon is only getting one team this year.

Sounds like Temple, except our RPI is great.

Ya, I definitely wouldn't count them out, but it is very unlikely.

A lot of talk about the CAA (GMU, VCU, etc.) and i like it

watch out for the James Madison Dukes, young team, new coach. They win one game things could get interesting. That is of course they even win the CAA :)
