Do you think thunder sticks bother free throw shooters ? I don't.

I think free throw shooters totally block em out because they have become part of the game.

i think its more distracting wen people go virtually silent

players aren't bothered by anything wen they are at the line, except for maybe if some woman in the stands is flashing them, but besides that i don't think they get distracted. At least not by thunder sticks.

I actually hear that vertical movement impairs the concentration more than waving hands from side to side.

I think after time, players get used to them.

Players are definetely used to them. I think if the fans didn't move a muscle when the guy shoots, the shooter would freakout and throw up bricks.... lol ...Fans should try this in crunch time in like game 7 of the NBA finals.

Exactly. Fans should try reverse psychology once in a while.

I'm sure the thunder sticks have made somebody miss before. I remember some guy who used to throw a towel in the air when somebody would shoot free throws to try and make them miss. I don't remeber where that was from. Also, my uncle was at a game and Karl Malone was at the line and my uncle was yelling "miss it Moses, miss it Moses!" and later Karl went to inbound the ball and he said to my uncle "hey man, my name is Karl" and my uncle said "oh I know, I was just trying to throw you off."

Yes, I think they can be distracting. But I think its more to give the fans a way interact in the game and get the team fired up. My Highschool football team got some when we made it to the playoffs this year. Definitly not to distract anyone. But Its not like THe NBA is like college where young people are screeming there hearts out for the team. If you do that in an NBA areana you would just look weird.

If I was sitting in the seat behind that guy I would have kicked his *** onto the court.

if you've played basketball before when you shoot a free throw you black everything out but if your realizing your ****** at free shooting...its cause you pay attention to that garbage

They'd have to drag my unconscious body off the court if I saw that.

Lol thats a pretty funny story.

I know there is a guy In our arena. He's a Doctor. and he has a whole Crap load of Props he uses. his seat is right by the hoop too.
so when they are on that side. he throws up blow up dolls. Umbrellas, flags megaphone. its pretty funny. last year in the playoffs. he got ejected by the refs for swearing at them.
