I'll take Hamels, Hanley, & BJ Upton.

Just a few young, talented players to build a franchise around that would be able to compete this season.

Seriously, somebody explain to me how any of you do not take Albert Pujols, the best hitter of this generation by a LOT, an absolute lock for future production, amazing fielder, and just turned 29 years old. For now, for future, he should be #1 on everyone's list. he's going to be producing at elite levels for probably another 10 years, 8 at least.

I was going to pick Lincecum, but he is going to blow out his arm in the next year or 2. He's such a small guy. I know that's how Pedro was , but he was rare. I think Joba will last, as as long as he doesn't go back and forth to the rotation to the bullpen.

Bronxbombers182

Hanley can hit, but he sucks in the field. He's young, so can develop his SS skills.

1908_Cubs
01-24-2009, 10:46 AM
Call me ballsy. But I'd go with:

Roy Halladay
Dan Uggla (I love his bat, what can I say? especially coming from a 2b)
Grady Sizemore

Bronxbombers182
01-24-2009, 10:53 AM
Dan Uggla isn't the worst, not who I would pick though.

Joemoes
01-24-2009, 11:00 AM
Felix Hernandez
Evan Longoria
Joe Maur (a good catcher can change the face of a game)

lavell12
01-24-2009, 11:18 AM
David Price (Lincecum is going not last long with those mechanics)
Hanley Ramirez
Jason Heyward (yes I know he is in A-ball but the kid will be the best outfielder in 4 years).

1908_Cubs
01-24-2009, 02:32 PM
Dan Uggla isn't the worst, not who I would pick though.

He's clearly the 2nd best 2b in the league. He can fill it at 1b when you need it. It's easy as hell to find yourself a firstbasemen now a days, guys who post .820+ OPS from 1b now a days grow on trees.

Also, when you get him outside of massive FL, he had a .960(!!!) OPS. Plus he's definitely on the upswing. He's got 40+ HR power potential from a non offensive position.

Young2Kinsler
01-24-2009, 02:34 PM
I don' think Uggla is as good as Utley or Kinsler, maybe even Pedroia

1908_Cubs

I don' think Uggla is as good as Utley or Kinsler, maybe even Pedroia

You're watching too much ESPN.

Utley is number 1. Pedroia is a product of Fenway. Dustin OPS' .827 away from the short porch in LF. When you get Uggla outside of huge Marlins Stadium, he had a .960 OPS. Not to mention, Uggla still out OPS'ed him.

Uggla: .874
Pedroia: .864

Winner: Uggla

While Kinsler out OPS'ed Uggla on the whole in 2008, we wont know how good Uggla is considering Danny had a .960 on the road, and it was the first year Ian had an OPS over .800. Uggla's got it 2 years running. But Kinsler is close, so I retract my "clearly" statement, but I'd still take Danny Ugg's over Kinsler, personally.

Sizemore-Take my word, he will be a finalist for MVP this year
Pujols-Undoubtedly the most under appreciated big name in the game
Carmona- Has the sickest sinker in the game. When he's healthy, no one can hit that sinker. Ask Torii Hunter

SmoothOperator

Roy Halladay - Has proven a lot more than Lincecum so far, giving him the edge.
Albert Pujols - Could go down as the best player of our era, and is in his prime.
Matt Holliday - All around performer, like him at the plate better than some other candidates. Manny and Vlad are very close but I like Holliday the most.
