He's great, but I could do that against Dallas. My god does this team need a trade, and bad. I've even resorted to thinking this team should try to get T-Mac, some one put me out of my misery.

Seriously though you have to think about it.

Who would be worse? The Lakers without Bryant or Hornets without Paul? Honestly, Paul was robbed. However I do agree Kobe was robbed when he averaged 35ppg.

However, comeon. Kobe had a MUCH BETTER team than Paul last year and for the Lakers to only win the Conference by ONE GAME! It should have been Chris Paul's honor.

Not knocking Kobe at all. He's obviously a great player. I'm more just showing love to CP3. He's unbelievable and last year he was robbed. I'm sorry. Kobe had more talent around him. CP3 is more important, or VALUABLE to his team than Kobe. I think Kobe should have won one in the past, but not last year...especially at the expense of Chris Paul losing out

Hakeem and Alvin Robertson are the only ones I know to have gotten quadruple doubles.

Macedonian
01-15-2009, 12:48 AM
...when the last time someone got a quadruple double? has it ever happened? The NBA officially recognizes four quadruple-doubles:

Nate Thurmond, October 18, 1974, Chicago vs. Atlanta; 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 blocks.
Alvin Robertson, February 18, 1986, San Antonio vs. Phoenix; 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals.
Hakeem Olajuwon, March 29, 1990, Houston vs. Milwaukee; 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 blocks.
David Robinson, February 17, 1994, San Antonio vs. Detroit; 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks.

Paul played with an all-star last year, Kobe did not.

If you seriously do think the Lakers have a better team, then the Hornets than you are a fool. Please! Chris Paul CREATED an allstar in West. And Gasol is allstar talent too so that doesnt even work.

I think Kobe won the award because he was due for it. He been in the league too long to not have won it. Thats the only reason. The voters believe Chris Paul will win his in the future

KG2TB

Paul played with an all-star last year, Kobe did not.

That's great and all but are you saying T-mac is an all-star this year? Or AI? The all-star voting is a joke. The Lakers overall collectively had\have more talent than the Hornets. If Chris Paul wasn't on NO's last year does David West make the all-star team? Does Tyson Chandler resurrect his career? I mean...Chandler played with a pretty darned good PG in Kirk Hinrich but he blew chunks the whole time he was here. He goes to NO and all of a sudden had a career year. Coincidence? I know every fan wants to defend their team and their superstar but let's be realistic...Chris Paul was robbed and the Lakers had more talent than NO last year and this year. Kobe deserved an MVP sometime in his career but last year was definitely not that year.

Chris Paul is just amazing. Wow when is the last quadruple? Is it David Robinson? Anyways, This argument about who's better team and more talented and who's won the MVP does not matter. It just cancels out.. basically... if both players are taken out of their teams both will be mediocre at best. Just have respect for both players since both are the pinnacle franchise players. And be happy that you all have been able to witness this kinds of talent.

Well, keep in mind that the Lakers dealt with all sorts of turmoil last season. Going into last season Kobe demanded a trade and the Lakers weren't even expected to make the playoffs. Then they started the year blazing and were probably the most unlikely candidate to be the best team in the west, yet they led the western conference in wins near the allstar break. Then they had a slue of injuries, including a season ending loss to their budding center, and Kobe kept the Lakers afloat despite pretty much playing by himself out there. Then they pulled out a miracle trade for Pau Gasol and the Lakers (and Kobe) melded him into the team midseason and didn't miss a beat. Following that midseason trade the Kobe and Pau duo went on a tear and finished the season stronger than any other team in the league. Paul played great last season...........but if you look at the season as a whole, it was Kobe's year.

He almost had a "Quadruple" double... wow, impressive...

My props to Paul... amazing for a guard.

I checked and only 4 players had been able to record a quadruple doubles since 1973-1974 season...

I am sure that probably Wilt Chamberlain made more than a few.

So Kobe didn't deserve it when he played through a broken pinkie (or some other big pinkie injury) down the stretch to take away the top seed from Paul's Hornets with one of his main sidekicks (Bynum) out with an injury? And by the way, didn't Kobe's Lakers beat the team that beat Paul's Hornets in the playoffs rather handily the next round? And does it not matter to you that Kobe is one of the top perimeter defenders in the league? The amount of Kobe hating on this site is just ridiculous, and I'm not even a Laker fan.
