Having 3 stars on your team can make you look like a good coach...

Doc was perceived as a terrible coach before Garnett and Allen came along. Perfect example of how the players make the coach.

I don't think a bad coach can win a title unless the team is filled with superstars.

IMO, he's ok. He did a decent job in Orlando, did a horrible job with the celtics until KG and Ray came to Boston. Defense wins championships and everyone knows Doc didn't set up the defensive system. Doc runs the offense and thats something the Celtics have lacked recently.

He did win coach of the year in Orlando, right? He is good, but not great.

I voted yes just because he was able to out-coach Phil Jackson in the finals last year. IMO he's not a Larry Brown type coach that can make something out of nothing, but if you give him some good pieces to work with he can manage them pretty well.

PJ has had good success but he's always had good players. Same with Red Aurebach, a lot of wins & titles, but also a lot of good pieces to work with :)

Remember how bad his teams were before having three HOFers and a great defensive coach? He's terrible.

He is a bad coach. I dont think he is good at all. Let some other coaches coach the Celtics. Let me Coach the Celtics lol. I dont even like the plays he sets up for the big three. Last year, Ray Allen was hardly involved in the offense. As far as getting plays called for him.

Average coach.

And sometimes he has weird comments to the media, like this -

"In our last timeout, you could see it in our guys' eyes. Like, 'Shoot, we're going to lose this home game'. It bothered them. You could see that. And I was thinking 'That's a good thing.'

Doc is a good coach. The problem with the team is that Paul Pierce and his lazyness has come back full circle.

Im a Celtics fan and I say no
I see how he messes stuff up almost every night
He'll play Pruitt House Pierce Big Baby and Powe always at the worst times
Always sitting the superstars when we need them most
I wouldnt say hes overrated cause i dont even think he is rated, but he is definitly a product of great players
