This came out of nowhere, but read up. Josh Howard might be dealt to good ole Canada...

As a Dallas fan I was expecting O'Neal to be involved but he isn't. I am wondering where Bargnani will play. The 3? It would be interesting. I do believe Anthony Parker is nice fit, but he is older than I thought, 33.

Toronto definitely needs to shake things up a bit without trading one of their two stars in Bosh and Calderon. The rest are expendable.

not sure why the mavs would want bargnani to play the 3.
but if theres anyone who can teach bargnani to play like dirk, it's dirk himself. but then again, why would they want a downgrade of dirk when they have the real thing on their team already? it'll be interesting to see how they play with each other.
AP is an underrated player, he can definitely help the mavs at the 2.

from the raptors standpoint, the lineup of calderon-jhow-moon-bosh-jo'neal looks pretty scary on paper.

As a Dallas fan, I'm salivating for this deal to go down. Bargani could play the 3 some, or the 4 with Dirk playing the 5, or most likely he would start at the 5 like he does in Toronto. According to Hoopsworld, this would give Bargani a boost in minutes, and when he's gotten minutes he's been very productive. Dallas would shed some money, and pick up a young talent they can groom for the future. Parker adds a scorer who can create for himself and knock down the 3, and defend... he's exactly what we need. In case you can't tell, this is one rumor that if it turns out to be true, would have me streaking in Dallas!

That would be quite a starting 5, and we'd finally get the slasher/perimeter defender that we lacked in Howard:

Calderon
Howard
Moon
Bosh
O'Neal

Bench: Kapono, Graham, Diop, Solomon, Voskuhl, Humphries

If this team is healthy, it's a definite contender.

Yeah I think this deal helps both teams really. Toronto needs a shakeup, and so does Dallas. Howards a great player, I think it's just time he moved on. I'm just trying to not get too excited, since it is a rumor, but this is the type of change Dallas has needed.

1st thought josh howard is gonna be in trouble (is there a such thing as DWH???)

2nd mavs will not give up desagna diop

3rd what will it look like with dirk and future dirk running up and down the same court??

nearyG

im down with this one...contracts dont match up tho...maybe bass instead of diop? or the raptors include graham and adams???maybe this could lead to the raptors bringing back delfino if they have to part with 3 wing players??? make it official already...howard can smoke sum boom chronic in canada...ill be waiting for him at the airport with a fatty

IS there a way to add J. Moon? Kidd needs someone to run with him... And get up up and away to the rim... Terry loves to run but he cant go up up and away... And Parker's old plus Bargnani's ugh, overrated? I mean hes not yet proven whereas JHow is proven,,, and also a proven pot user... :smoking:

How about Dirk for Bosh instead?

JJ_JKidd

The Mavs need some athleticism period...

Kidd - X
Wright, Terry, George - X
Dirk - X
Damp - X
Howard - sort of

Almost 0% athleticism... :p

hahaha

it's probably something like this.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=992~2006~2801~2987~2759~2010~6 35&teams=28~28~28~6~6~6~6&te=&cash=6:28

and we'd probably bring back delfino asap like you said.

Kapono? U have Dirk, Bargs and Kapono on one team?

marvILLous
01-07-2009, 05:20 AM
lollll yea. well that's the only way for it to work cuz calderon isn't going for sure.

thedfactor

Kapono would be very nice addition in the trade. With him the Mavs won't have to rely on Terry for most the 3-point shooting. This trade more importantly helps Dallas financially.

BlondeBomber41

Gross. No....

We traded for Kidd under the assumption that we are gonna go for a Championship now. So trading a All Star for a young guy is stupid.

Why would the Mavs do this? They will now have another Nowitzki type of player in Bargnani (he was projected to be the next Dirk in the draft). Cuban really loves more Dirk...

JJ_JKidd is right, they need a more athletic player in exchange for Howard.

I think JO would compliment Dallas more than Bargnani. Dallas already has Dirk, so why add a similar player to the bunch. It just doesn't make sense. LOL

Trade works.

If the Raps want Diop and don't want to give up on Kapono, a third team will have to get involved.

seriously, i'd rather do that deal than the deal that involes diop lol, but i think the mavs would insist on diop being a part of the deal to shed some salary. i love the bargnani deal as a raptor fan, seeing how it addresses a lot of holes on our roster, but i think JO heading the other way makes more sense for the mavs. they want to win now, and JO would be a better fit on their team. they can try and win the championship by the next 2 years, and if they don't, they'd have a ton of cap space to try and rebuild. here's a deal that i propose, seeing how u never know how GM discussions can swing from one possible deal to another:

another terrible trade by cuban, that bargini cat cant even start in the east on a terrible(now) toronto team, so you bring him to the west just cause he can shoot 3's supposedly which obviously hasn't work for the mavs nor suns

i hope my magic read about it and give up rashard or turk for an allstar defender josh howard

There is no way this trade can happen.

Dallas in NO way benefits from this trade. I BC can pull this trade off, he should be arrested for stealing.

i think the raps are getting ripped off in the long term. Especially with a unrelaible starter in o'neal, he has been injured a bunch this season and now that andrea bargnani is filling in that role at the 5 quite well, we should deal him? Josh Howards better days are behind him. If they want to get Howard im not saying he is a bad player he is a huge upgrade over moon, but I'd rather part with JO over bargnani. Think about 2010 if bosh bolts who are we going to have just Jose?

I don't think either team would be getting ripped off in this supposed deal that we now know to be false. It would benefit both sides, but I guess theres no point to go into why since hoopsworld is a bunch of vaginas
