Detroit Pistons have homecourt advantage

Detroit Pistons Lineup:

C: Marcus Camby - Marreese Speights - Ryan Anderson
PF: Tim Duncan - Joakim Noah - Ryan Anderson
SF: Morris Peterson - Damien Wilkins - Damien Wilkins
SG: Jason Richardson - Michael Finley - Michael Finley
PG: Rajon Rondo - Ronnie Price - Lindsay Hunter

New York Knicks Lineup:

C: Yao Ming - Jeff Foster - Shelden Williams
PF: Paul Millsap - Tim Thomas
SF: Richard Jefferson - Dorell Wright
SG: Ronnie Brewer - Rashad McCants
PG: Devin Harris - Kyle Lowry - Mardy Collins

Detroit Pistons Writeup:

Center: We are switching Duncan to C here because we feel he is one of the best man-man defenders on the league and would be very effective to guard Yao. Yao averages 12.5 PPG and 4.5 RPG against the Spurs on the season, so we know we can rely on Duncan to shut him down. On the other end, Yao is a mediocre defender, so Duncan will definitely get numbers near his average. Duncan is the better overall player than Yao and takes this match up.

Power Forward: Milsap may be better than Camby offensively slightly, but Camby is better than him in every other single category. Camby obviously wins this match up.

Small Forward: Jefferson is obviously the better player than Peterson, but Peterson is here to bring his experience and defense. Peterson is a great perimeter defender and will not have any trouble holding Jefferson below his average.

Shooting Guard: Richardson currently leads the league in 3PT % and is very explosive (2 Slam Dunk Titles) making him a huge threat on the offensive end. Brewer is not much more than an average defender, so Richardson will definitely get his average and possibly more. Richardson takes this match up as he better than Brewer is every category in the game other than stealing.

Point Guard: This is a great match up between 2 young quick rising point guards. I'm not going to say Rondo is the better player, but he's one of the best on ball defenders at his position and will definitely hold Harris down well below his regular averages. On the other end, we are expecting much from Rondo other than play making as we realize Harris' defense can also slow down Rondo.

Overall: The Pistons have the best defensive team in the league with Duncan and Camby downlow, making it almost impossible to get a shot in near the basket. They also have Rondo playing the passing lanes, and solid defense from all the other players on this team, which will definitely make the Knicks offense slow down and struggle. The Pistons are also much more experience with Duncan's 4 rings and Finley, Rondo and Hunter all having a few rings themselves where as the Knicks do not have even one player that won a title. The chemistry is another thing, Yao does not match the chemistry on this Knick team. Yao is huge and is slow where as a team of Harris - Brewer - Jefferson - Milsap is obviously an explosive run-n-gun team. To sum it up, the Pistons have more talent, experience, chemistry and defense that will allow them to take this series.

The New York Knicks didnt send in a writeup.

I thought the Pistons were the best team in the East, and my opinion has not changed, too much D, too much experience, and the Knicks have no answer for Timmy.

The Pistons have an excellent team defense and Duncan would be a very tough matchup for Yao or Milsap. The Knicks have a great team, but homecourt advantage for Detroit and a superior defense would do them in.

Pistons in 7.

I'd give the edge to the Pistons.
