PHOENIX (AP) -- Suns guard Jason Richardson is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol in an American Indian tribal community in metropolitan Phoenix. A citation filed in court says the ex-Michigan State star was stopped by a Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community police officer in the early morning of Dec. 21. Richardson is accused of having a blood alcohol level above 0.08 percent while driving a 2008 Mercedes. He's also accused of failure to drive in one lane. Messages seeking comment were left Monday with Richardson lawyer Larry Kazan. A hearing date hasn't been set.

This is getting ridiculous. So many athletes and celebrities are getting busted for this. I'm sure this has been said before but when you make money like these people do can't they just arrange for a designated driver or call a cab? It is so easy to just take a moment and think to yourself that I may be drinking or I am definitely drinking and I need to call a friend or hanger-on to drive me there and pick me up when it's over. All these arrests are completely ridiculous and with a little common sense avoidable. These athletes and celebrities need to get a clue.

I don't understand how these pro athletes keep getting caught for DUI's. Really, were I that rich, I'd never drive myself anywhere, I'd hire someone else to drive me.

Jason Richardson has been doomed to mediocrity ever since leaving Golden State.
