Haha, thanks. I just am leaving pretty soon, so decided to have the gamethread done before I left.

Good luck Wolves!

The Wolves have been playing well lately. I think they continue tonight. Rose will get his numbers but I see a close victory.

If the wolves keep Rose from having a good night I think we have a decent shot at it.

By McCants do you mean Ben Gordon?

It'll be a bittersweet game. It'll be tough to think that we COULD'VE had Derrick Rose. What a disappointment. Some league the NBA is. The Chicago Bulls have won six titles in the last 20 years, but YET, they've had two # 1 picks. Unbelievable. Meanwhile, our beloved lumber puppies have made it past the first round ONCE but somehow have never had a # 1 OR a # 2 pick...

SKULLDUGGERY! That's what I say.

IowaAJ

I think this is a very winnable game and the way we have been playing I think we get the job done again tonight.

I hope Derrick Rose and Ben Gordon torch us. Seriously stop winning Wolves! What are you guys thinking? The more we win the less ping pong balls we will get!

Carneyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

howiend
01-03-2009, 10:23 PM
Continue to be impressed with what a basketball-smart player Love is! Remember how Marbury used to be so good at setting up Dean Garret by penetrating and Garret would just set up on the baseline for an open jump shot - looks to me like Bassy and Love are starting to get that same thing going. It would be fun to see Love develop with a penetrating pg.

Mauersota
01-03-2009, 10:23 PM
Anyone else want to join me on the Carney bandwagon? I've been driving it by myself for awhile now and would like some company.

When do you think that we will be able to know the winner of the trade between Love and Mayo?

Great pass by Cardinal to set up that sick dunk! I really like seeing carney get pt before McCants. I like the job mchale is doing.

I would like to see Al work on his interior passing - he could really learn to set up the other big man in the game with him.

When do you think that we will be able to know the winner of the trade between Love and Mayo?

IMO the only way to evaluate the trade is wait 4 years and see which TEAM is better, Memphis or twolves. Love will never be the individual player that Mayo is but he does help the team (as Miller does). Does Miller stay (or is he traded for someting helpful for the future)? Does mn use the cap space to sign a helpful piece?

Foye blocks ben Gordon up by 8

Mauersota
01-03-2009, 11:50 PM
And Foye finishes it up on the other end. I want Carney in the dunk contest.

IowaAJ
01-03-2009, 11:50 PM
Gomes huge plays in the clutch with offensive rebound and putback up by 8 only 44 seconds left.

IowaAJ
01-03-2009, 11:50 PM

Miller oh ****, its the knee

IowaAJ
01-03-2009, 11:55 PM
Wow Miller is hurt again this time a knee but he stays in and shoots free throws.

Mauersota
01-03-2009, 11:56 PM
It looks like he is fine, hard foul wasn't necessary but not dirty by any means.

IowaAJ
01-03-2009, 11:57 PM
Look at the balanced scoring for us tonight.
Foye 21 pts
Gomes 19 pts
Jefferson 18 pts and 14 rebounds
Love 18 pts and 12 rebounds
Telfair 15 pts and 6 assists.

IowaAJ
01-03-2009, 11:57 PM
agree he wasn't trying to hurt him

Mauersota
01-03-2009, 11:57 PM
Foye kinda had a Mayo style night with 21 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals.

IowaAJ
01-04-2009, 12:00 AM
Wolves win number 8 102 to 92:clap:

IowaAJ
01-04-2009, 12:00 AM
Yeah he played very well in the 4th quarter as well as Gomes had a big 4th quarter.

IowaAJ
01-04-2009, 12:01 AM
did we get a glimpse of the new starting lineup with
Telfair
Foye
Gomes/Miller
Love
Jefferson

Mauersota
01-04-2009, 12:02 AM
What I was getting at was he really just put up points tonight not much else.

howiend
01-04-2009, 12:21 AM
Foye is not comfortable at all at pg. The Wolves offense really stalled when they took telfair out at the beginning of the 4th. If ollie is out that will hurt. I like starting ollie and bringing telfair off the bench. I also like starting smith and gomes and bringing love and miller off the bench.

Cardinal really made some great passes when he was in the game. If he would hit a few outside shots it would really make his 15-20 minutes a game valuable.

I don't think we should mess with the setup. Love and Cardinal work well together. Our 2nd unit has looked good lately and like the commentators were saying, Cardinal helps Love with instruction and support. The pick up of Cardinal means more than it may have seemed earlier.

The only thing I would maybe try right now is starting Carney if Telfair AND Foye both have to start to have a good defensive person. Just because someone starts doesn't mean they have to be in the teams top 5 for minutes.

I wonder how long Ollie is out? Although I hate to see injuries I am glad Telfair will/should get consistant playing time.
