it wasn't effective for him, considering his stuff, but it was cool to see a classic windup.

The guy who destroyed the yanks 2 years ago in the playoffs.

Bird is a class act player. 100% respect to the man. Did a great good for cleveland. Would not even mind bringing him back for cheap.

Probably doesn't think he has any other choice; the lack of HGH just has to be killin' him

he owned randy johnson in one of his 1st games with the phillies. threw a shutout and had an rbi off rj.

I'd take him to be a #5 starter... :)

He could still be a solid 5, maybe even 3-4 on a bad team.

If he retires, hes had a good career. He was one of those Mussina type players that not a lot of fans (especially young ones) showed alot of appreciation for, be he always does his job.

paul who?

"Do you.....or do you not know about the Byrd?? 'Cause everybody knows that the Byrd is the word."

-Peter Griffin

He is just another starting pitcher. He was rather old school in his approach.

Has an All Star ring and made over 40 million dollars in his career.

He knows a few HGH suppliers, he's worth a 1 or 2 year deal.

Byrd made a career with very little stuff. He worked hard and achieved far past his talent level. Nice career for him with 108 wins and an all-star appearance

Who does not know paul byrd?? For real people learn your baseball. Not like he's some nobody.

Yeah I think it's kinda odd when some people don't know who current players are. Like I, and I thought a lot of people, know who 99 percent of MLB players are, maybe not though.

Calm down Tiger!!! That has nothing to do with what I said. I was pointing out that it seemed that the guys who were acting like Paul Byrd was a nobody were being sarcastic. Don't take things so serious. :silly:

One of the nicest people in baseball. Too bad for the sport if he retires.
