Do Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa really think they will find a team that wants to take a chance on them?? Bonds especially....

also why havent the Jays made a play for Eric Hinske? he once played in toronto and enjoyed it.. why not bring him back? he is cheap and could fill the DH role and possibly first base while adding a decent power bat...boggles my mind...:eyebrow:

Prediction for AL East in 2009

1. Yankees- 115-47
2. Red Sox- 101-61
3. Rays- 98-64
4. Jays- 80-82
5. O's- 66-96

LMAO......The Yankees win 115 games? I love how everyone thinks that the Yankees are going to run away with the division. It will be great to see when they still finish behind the Sox and the Rays

Wow...what is more ridiculous, that you have the Yankees with a near-MLB record (what a joke) for wins or that you want Hinske?

...btw, Hinske is the last person of the season to get an AB....of course, it was lights out for him.....

Does it really matter how many wins the yanks get?? CC and A-rod will choke in the playoffs like always.

Ignoring all the anti-yankee hate, let's start with some basic facts.

1) It's almost impossible for two teams in the same division to win 100 games, let alone 3 winning 98+ games.

2) Sammy Sosa hasn't played since 2007, and the last time he did play he was awful. He's not coming back.

3) Bonds has a better chance. He'll increase revenue for any team that signs him because he's still the homerun king, he's nearing 3000 hits, and he's on the verge of breaking RBI and runs scored records.

However, he just had hip surgery. So even if he was signed as a DH he could have issues recovering from that (he's in his 40's). Especially because his swing depends on him moving his hips... it's where he gets his slugging power from.

The Yanks are not winning 115 games and the sox are not winning 101 games...The Yanks are gonna be near 100 games so is the sox and Rays are gonna b just around 95

the yankees are good, but not good enough to win 115 games. They're going to have a lot of injuries and they're really relying on Burnett to go back to his old form and for Sabathia to stay as is. I think the Yankees will come in second and win the wildcard behind the Red Sox.

3 players wont get them 115 wins...especially seeing as how two of the players only play once every 5 games

As long as we're making predictions; injuries prevent both CC and Burnett from making 20 starts in '09.

The only thing that CC chokes on is salami...as in Grand Salami....right Shane Victorino?

Sammy and Barry are in the wrong place at the wrong time... with all the "clean-cut" sluggers today, NO ONE wants to take a flyer on two guys with questionable reputations and deteriorating skills...

people want to take a chance on a Ken Griffey Jr, not a Sammy Sosa...

Is it even possible for these teams to both win over 100 games or would a team have to go like 30-132?

Well first of all I need to say that all of you did a awesome job of correcting my predictions.. (A little hung over that day also) As my prediction was a little out of whack I agree to that... I placed the Yankees so high because of there spending spree.. its to be expected. The East is either going to Red Sox or Yankees with the other team taking the wild card..

As a Jays fan I will place a jinx on Burnett this year... hoping his shoulder issues come back to haunt him..

Thanks for answering my question regarding the other two players..

Where do yall think Manny will land in 09? Yankees? Giants? Dodgers?

yanks stay healthy, they'll be a little over or a little under 100 wins this year, just too much talent, no idea about how the rays will come back and boston's gunna be around 90-93 is my guess
