Are the suns trainers miracle workers or something? He's averaging like 5 more points and is shooting 60% at the foul line & the field. The games I watched his form doesn't look like he's going to break the backboard anymore.

It's interesting that in one more minute of action Shaq is producing much more than last year. He's at 17 and 9, do you think he will be an allstar again?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but merge if you'd wish.

ya i think he'll be a huge surprise as an all star. In the west its really him and Yao at the Center position

Just seems like he is much more motivated then ever. He is a true winner and a team leader. Some of his younger teammates should learn from him how to fight for the win. I watched last Suns game against Spurs and it looked like Shaq is the only player on the team which wants to win, all others seemed apathetic, just like doing their job with no heart...

Suns staff does have a reputation for rejuvinating players. Just look at what they did to Hill...

I think it also helps that they give him days off every once in a while to give him extra time to recover.

I'd love to see him at the all-star game. What's an all-star game without Shaq?

shaq is full of pride and his just showing everyone why he will go down as one of the greatest players the game has ever seen. Everyone in the media and some fans said shaq was washed up and didn't have it anymore, but he has shown that his still a force inside even at the tender age of 36. Shaq is supposed to be at the end of his career and is supposed to be declining yes his lost a a step here or their but, it's incredible to see him still perform at a high level and give solid contributions to the Suns. Shaq will be an all star this year and deservedly so, not because of sympathy of the game being in phoenix and his name being shaq but because of his form

As of late, he has shown flashes of his old self, not in his prime, but shortly after. Let's wait and see how long it continues.

He definately should be in the All Star Game. It is just not as fun with his goofy self involved. I love watching him dancing when they introduce him.

Anyone ever see that video of him and Lebron and Dwight Howard doing a dance off at one of the games, hysterical.

^ Yea that **** was funny when Dwight tried to out dance him. The all star game is suppose to be fun and entertaining, wouldn't be as fun without the big guy. Plus he's earned it.

shaq is shaq. Hes a great player. he goes through these stretches when he shoots well from the line but it usually tails off as the season goes on. In the playoffs if the Suns make the playoffs i guarantee his ft shooting will be backboard breakning again and the hack a shaq back in full force

He's certainly much more motivated, he has a fantastic pass first PG who passes him the ball downlow and health wise he is feeling much better than he did last season.

not surprised, his aging shouldnt affect anything, wont lose a first step, doesnt lose speed, he didnt have these to begin with. he still is massive bangs with anyone and is a powerhouse which he wont lose anytime soon. hes not got as much of a jump but at 7' 2 he dont need it.

Shaq has schocked me this year!! A statline of 17.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg, and 1.5 bpg, is amazing for shaq considering how old he is!

I love Shaq on the Suns. No homo. He's playing really well, the 2nd best C in the west after Yao. It's amazing what he's producing at only like 28 MPG. People act like Shaq's washed up, old and broken down but thats not the case. He has to rest due to his body being fatigued. He can still put up big #'s. Nobody in the league can guard Shaq one-on-one. He deserves to make the ASG considering it's in Phoenix. He leads the Suns in rebounding, blocks and FG%.

EDIT: Shaq's numbers
17.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.5 bpg, 59.8 FG%, 60.3 FT%, 29.6 mpg

 Please man, you and I both know that we would LOVE to see Phoenix in the first round. Although I'm sure it wouldn't mean as much now, but bouncing you out of the first round would be sweet revenge.

As for the game, we played down to our competition. Usually happens when you play teams that you don't give a **** about. You guys were undermanned and there was no Shaq (who btw, I admit is playing much better that I expected), the Lakers were hardly motivated to play hard.

You probably need to hold onto this game as your one little glimmer of hope for defeating us in a playoff series, but deep inside you know it will not happen. Truth hurts doesn't it?

No offense.

If Nash and Amare make it, then Shaq won't. Makes no sense to have 3 guys on one team in an allstar game if they are not one of the top 3-4 teams in the conference.

Shaq is playing great and playing within the Suns offense.

But he just isn't the same Shaq, not as quick and alot less hop than in his prime.
In his prime, he had mobility, quickness & power like no other big man.
He was the closest dominance I have seen to Wilt....
both were men playing with boys.

Yes he is playing well now, but when the season starts to near an end will he still be able to produce like this? I highly doubt it

Shaq better make the all star game. Not only has his play made him earn it, but he deserves it cause he is an all time legend. You dont just pass him up for guys like Chandler, Bynum, Jefferson. They will have their time, but they do not deserve it over Shaq yet.
