JJ Almendinger will take over the #19 for Elliot Sadler next season.Reports team founder ray evernham was seen cleaning his belongings out after selling off the majority of the team.It shouldn't take elliot long to find a ride somewhere else he is a solid driver and sponsers like him because of his attitude.

Sadler's possibilities are rumored to include the #41 Chevy at Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing or the #77 Dodge at Penske Racing should Sam Hornish Jr. replace Helio Castroneves in the IRL IndyCar Series [who faces a trial and possible jail over IRS charges.
No word on who would drive the #10 Dodge of GEM in 2009.

Glad to see AJ get a ride. He was doing really well at the end of last year with GEM and I hope Red Bull regrets releasing him for Scott Speed. I think AJ will get 4-5 top 5's and 9-11 top tens, a pole or 2. He''s got tremendous upside and has a chaance of being a good driver with a few wins (overtime). He'll be fine there.

I think the DEI/Gannasi should sign Sadler to the 41 if they can''t get Bobby LAbonte. I think he'll only go to Penske if Labonte signs w/DEI and Hornish goes back to the IRL. Sadler will be able to get a 5 top fews and some top 10's and hopefully a top 25 points finish. Also, HE can attract sponser to the team and be able to manage it right threw the rough times. I think if teams are able to get to late Jubne or July, times will be better and more sponsors will be ready to give our some money. But its gonna be a good time for teams to get in the top 35 in owner points.

I thought Reed Sorenson was a done deal at the 10 car?

Hornish will be in the 77 next year

According to Jayski, if a Petty/GEM merge happens, Reed Sorenson is in the 43 and the 10 car is open. http://www.jayski.com/cupnews.htm#news19

Why would they forget about Bobby Labonte?

Bobby Labonte has already been released from Petty

Oh okay. I must have missed that. DEI should pick him up right away. He will have the ability to attract 1 race sponsors for time being.

Labonte was rumored to have signed a deal to drive the #41.

As for Sadler, I wouldn't sign him. He's nothing special. There are much better options.

the labonte deal had been denied the last I heard...

Sadler is a decent driver, he shouldnt have trouble finding a ride... there are mergers to be decided, and I dont think anything will happen until those mergers happen or dont happen
