View Full Version : What player is the most CONSISTENT in the league

We've seen who was the most inconsistent one. Who do you think is the most consistent? Not the guy to drop the most points a night, but just the guy that you are sure each night he will give you the same. And also, career-wise, who was the most consistent?

I think that a guy like Luis Scola is pretty consistent, delivers the same thing each night.
Maybe LeBron?

Kobe, Lebron, Duncan, CP3, D. Will, KG, D. Wade, Gasol

Kobe is just as consistent as those 3 players, how can you leave him off the list, since he has been in the league, he's been a consistent top notch performer. Also, where is KG, Gasol, etc... all of those guys are extremely consistent.

*Kobe's first 2 seasons weren't as consistent, I am referring to his last 9 yrs. in the NBA, just so we are all clear on that point.

Not exactly true, he wasn't a "top notch performer" in his first 2 seasons. (I know, he was a HS'er and didn't play that many minutes.)

Yeah really. He may not be the best player every year, but he is always top 5 since his 3rd or 4th year in the league. He does not have a year where he falls off the map like some other star players. You always know Kobe is going to have 28 points, 5 boards 5 assist and shoot about 46%. He is as constant as they come

Gasol averages 18 and 9 a game buddy, that is consistent. He's a 2nd option and has been the model of consistency.

so what if he averages that

sometimes he goes from low teen scoring digits to low 20's scoring digits

and he goes from like single digit rebounds to double digit rebounds

1 game he does below average then 1 game he does good

If you look at his complete game log, he goes from low teen to 20's or 20 to low teens or single digits to high teens http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/gamelog?playerId=996

heres some of his "consistancy"

I can point that out for a lot of players, Gasol has been a consistent player since he has arrived on the Lakers. His role is that of a 2nd option, so for that he's one of the most "consistent" players in the NBA. 18 and 9 a game is not shabby. I didn't say he's a top 10 player, I said he was consistent, he shoots .56 pct from the field.

O'Neal averages 16 and 9, shoots over 50% from the field and is the 2nd option, mabye ever 3rd or 4th option behind Amar'e, Nash and J-Rich but he is not that consistant. Just cuz someone averages a number doesnt mean they are consistantly getting that number

consistent players are players who average their numbers steadily and barely any differences in stats like getting 20 and 10 one game and 22 and 8 the next
