Pats need us to lose. Which is not going to happen :p

i am going to say something i dont say usually. there is a 0% chance the Patriots lose this game. they will treat it like a playoff game, just like they dealt with the arizona game.

Patriot win. dk by how much or it ifs pretty, but they will win this game.

Like I mentioned in the "Will the Pats make the Playoffs" thread, there is NO WAY we lose to the Bills. This team is locked in, and they will get it done on Sunday. From there, it's just a matter of who loses: the Dolphins or the Ravens. I guarantee that one of them will, because like I have said before, this Patriot team has a certain mystique about them in this time of the season. The same cannot be said for the Jets, Dolphins, or Ravens.

how is it that if we win were 11-5 and if the dolphins win there 11-5 but they make the playoffs and we dont? that makes no sense...who wants to see the dolphins instead of tha pats in the playoffs? please someone shed some light on this

The Dolphins own the tiebreaker between the two teams. Since we split head-to-head, the next factor considered is conference record. If the Dolphins beat the Jets on Sunday, they will finish with a conference record of 8-4, while the Patriots, if they take care of the Bills, will have a conference record of 7-5. That is why the Dolphins would win the division, and that is why we are all Jets fans this week, provided we take care of our own business.

Here is a link to the NFL tie breaking procedures:

http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures

It goes head to head, division record, record in common games, and since those are all ties between the Pats and Dolphins, it will come down to the conference record like Intimidator explained.

Let's go J..J...Je:puke:... JETS!

If I had said that back home in Maine in front of my parents I would end up tied down with a priest yelling at me "The power of Christ compels you!!!"

Actually, its not so bad rooting for them this week, the Jets fans on the whole have been really good on the forum this season. I can give it up for them (albeit to serve my own interests) for the week.

Patriots DE Richard Seymour (back) sat out his third straight practice Friday and is not expected to face Buffalo in Week 17.

His absence will hurt in a must-win game for New England. The Pro Bowler has arguably been the Patriots' most dominant defender this year, recording 7.5 sacks and 52 tackles. The Pats do have a dangerous pass-rushing backup in Jarvis Green, but he isn't as potent as Seymour against the run.

Patriots DE Ty Warren revealed Friday that he will undergo groin surgery after the season.

Warren's groin has bothered him since midseason and may be partially torn. While he will keep trying to play through it in Week 17 and the playoffs (if New England qualifies), it's severely curtailed his effectiveness.

Here are some interesting nuggets from the injury reports and from ESPN:

Expect Richard Seymour to miss tomorrow's game. Although he is officially listed as questionable, the fact that he hasn't practiced in days leads experts to believe that he will sit this one out.

For the Bills, dangerous playmaker Roscoe Parrish is out, while RB Marshawn Lynch and LB Kawika Mitchell are listed as questionable. If Lynch is unable to go tomorrow, there is no question that the loss of Seymour will hurt a lot less.

TheRedMarauder

Patriots downgraded DE Richard Seymour and DB Lewis Sanders to out for their Week 17 game against Buffalo.

While Seymour's absence was expected, losing two more starters is dangerous for a paper-thin defense. Sanders was filling in at safety for James Sanders, who could possibly return after missing two weeks with an abdomen injury. Jarvis Green will start for Seymour.

are the Patriots going to set a record with the most amount of games missed due to injury ever???

every week its someone else. we even had players' family members die. this is getting rediculous.

maybe we should quit before everyone gets killed.

Holy ****!!!!!!! Just saw on ESPN Countdown that the FG posts are tilted sideways because of the strong winds.

The Intimidator
12-28-2008, 12:38 PM
I saw that too. People are actually falling down out there because of the wind. It's gonna be 40-60 mph winds! I see a big day for Welker, because it will be virtually impossible to throw the ball downfield.

Patriots declared DE Richard Seymour, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, OL Wesley Britt, QB Matt Gutierrez, LB Tedy Bruschi, S Ray Ventrone, OL Billy Yates and DB Lewis Sanders inactive for Week 17.

Jarvis Green will start for Seymour. The Pats are on the road in windy Buffalo.

Haha, the fight on the field cost the Bills a fg attempt, unless they over turn it. But I doubt they will.

Belichick probably told the defense, "Get in a fight to waste time". Guaranteed.

Yeah know in a game like this you would expect Wes Welker and Kevin Faulk to be huge in the short passing game but, neither have been factors. I'm confused.

Lamont Jordan repeatedly gets stuffed in the backfield. They need to give it to Morris or Faulk on 3rd downs.

That should just about do it. We all know if Brett Favre is focused than he's going to be tough to beat but, I just don't know how focused that Jets team is going to be after seeing the Pats win and, knowing they have to beat the Dolphins and hope for a Ravens loss to get in.
