KEYS TO VICTORY
Protect the Crease: In the previous game against Buffalo, the Sabres scored three goals from right in front of the net. The Penguins will have to do a better job of keeping the crease clear and eliminating those close-range opportunities.

Ride 87 and 71: Big players need to perform in big games. Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby have gone above and beyond for the Penguins this season. They continue to acquire points at a record pace and will be counted upon to break through Buffalo's stingy defense.

LOWDOWN ON THE SABRES
Following the lockout, the Sabres made back-to-back appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals. They didnít make it to the Big Show on either occasion but appeared on the cusp of a championship. That was until the team lost three of its best players and missed the playoffs entirely last season. Forwards Daniel Briere and Chris Drury defected in free agency. Then top defenseman Teppo Numminen was diagnosed with a heart ailment. Numminen rehabbed all season and played his first and only game in the teamís final game of the season in an emotional affair.

Lindy Ruff enters his 12th straight season behind the bench for Buffalo, by far the longest tenured active coach with one team. Ruff has a reputation for getting the best out of his lineups. The Sabres didnít lose a game in regulation until Oct. 27, going 6-0-2 out of the gate. However, they hit a wall in November with only one win in eight games (1-6-1). Buffalo snapped a three-game losing skid with a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday. The Penguins meet Buffalo for the third time in their past 11 games.

^Good job on the IGT, SidtheKid:clap:

I was about to post about Malkin's beastly assist on the first goal, a Mario-like pass slipping the puck between his skates for the assist, and Malks sets up Fedotenko again for a 2-1 lead. All I can say is ****! Beast on, Malkman!

But hey guys, better pick up Sabres down low in the D zone. We are lapsing there.

God, I miss Marc-Andre Fleury. Too many rebounds! And hey Dany, don't look behind you into the net... it's too late to stop the puck at that point. Try looking right in front you where the puck was sitting... Grrr...

They looked so good in the first period and completely choked this one up. We need Fleury back immediately.
