Prince above Ariza is a move you make based on reputation, not based through 20 games, it would probably be a better choice but Ariza has been dominant defensively for the best defensive team in the league.

Love has played better than Beasley IMO

Same with DJ, Hill has kept the Spurs afloat in TP's absence. Augustine has started to catch fire recently though and Im sure he will be there by seasons end.

I'm a Laker fan, and I love Kobe. But its pretty clear at this point that Wade supercedes him on the 1st team at SG at this point in the season.

Good list. I agree. Although I hope by the end of the year Kobe ends up in the All NBA Defensive 1st Team.

Is this supposed to be based just on stats or overall performance?

It doesn't go like that. They choose 2 guards, 2 forwards and a C. You can have 2 SGs on the list or 2 PGs. Such as the 2002 All-NBA 1st team had T-Mac and Kobe.

Anyway, my choices:

All-NBA 1st team
G Chris Paul
G Dwyane Wade
F LeBron James
F Tim Duncan
C Dwight Howard

All-NBA 2nd team
G Kobe Bryant
G Chauncey Billups
F Chris Bosh
F Kevin Garnett
C Yao Ming

All-NBA 3rd team
G Brandon Roy
G Devin Harris
F Dirk Nowitski
F Carlos Boozer
C Al Jefferson

Mostly because if the Nets are getting anyone on the All-NBA Teams its going to be Devin, they wont allow such an average team to have 2 members on there, and because Vince throughout his career has been shafted for All-NBA Teams for similar reasons, his image doesnt help either.

Roy on the other hand has had a similar season production wise, has been insanely clutch this year and has led the Blazers to a better start. JJ has been Kobe-esque, is a better defender and their stats are probably in his favor I havent checked but I dont see how you could say hes been clearly the better player. But believe me, Ive been extremely impressed with Vince this year, hes looking spry and hasnt looked this efficient since he first arrived in NJ.

It should be a culmination of everything you know thats happened this season.

Thats a very good list, from the looks of it, it seems like you based them solely on individual performance though. Shouldnt Kobe being on pace for 70 be worth something? Or is this a Wilt vs Russel type deal where Bill would win the MVP but Wilt would be named All-NBA 1st team for his individual dominance.

Yeah, I found it really hard to choose between the Paul, Kobe and Wade. I just gave the nod to Paul and Wade for individual dominance. If the Lakers win 70+, Kobe's sure to be on the 1st team and likely to win MVP but right now I don't see them getting to 70.

because devin harris is the real reason why the nets are playing so well, carter is playing great and you do have a bit of an argument, but theres no way you can put him ahead of brandon roy or joe johnson... those guys are leading their teams to greatness while having almost the same stats to vince... you could make a case over ray allen, but ray-ray is killing it so far this year, his shooting has been great and i think he's the biggest reason why the celts have the best record in the NBA...

 Finally someone who got it right. Melo is having a great season this year, its because of his sacrificing, leads all SF in rebounding, stepped up defensively, and you have got to know that the scoring will go up. good job, in recognizing that. People look the records and that should help as well.

Thaddeus YOUNG??? WTF!!!! WHERE IS HE?

Hey AirJordanXVIII,

their numbers were pretty similar in the 1st 20 games, but Chandler has a slight lead in points, rebounds, assists and blocks. They are tied in steals.

And Chandler is averaging less minutes.

These numbers don't reflect who's the better player, b/c I know D'Antoni's system tends to inflate their players' numbers.

However I chose Chandler, b/c he's doing a little bit more in a little less time.

In my opinion, Ariza deserves to be in the all-defensive team just as much as Kobe, if not more.
