50 steals because that would mean fast break oppurtunities resulting in fast break points

50 steals

steals lead to turnovers and extra possessions, blocks dont necessarily do that

Steals because like the poster above it assures that possesion of the ball has changed in your favour, where as a block could just be a ball swatted out of bounds where the other team retains posession.

no doubt steals...just because you block it doesnt mean your team will get the ball

50 blocks because then i would be known as a dominate presence down low!

Steals, they guarantee you get possession, and is it was said before it can lead to fast break points. Blocks don't necessarily mean you get the ball back.

50 steals means guaranteed possessions for my team. 50 blocks means potential 2nd chance opportunities for my opponent

Steals.

You could have 3 blocks in a row and the team can still score on you as long as they keep getting the offensive board.

50 steals means 50 changed possessions... which means 50 attempts more for you to score and 50 less for them.

50 steal because its a turnover.

A block feels so much better than a steal. A block is basically completely owning someone and making them feel bad about themselves. I don't care about the possessions, getting a big block in basketball is probably the best feeling thing you can do other than a game winning shot.

No, it doesnt. 50 blocks in 82 games is like .7 BPG

Not exactly a dominant shot blocker.

.7 BPG would be a good number to shoot for for carlos boozer...not that that has any relevance to anything at all.

A steal, like everyone mentioned guarantees you the possesion of the ball. Although, getting a block usually energizes the team a lot more then a steal. With that said, in an NBA game the 50 steals would be a lot more important, and therefore I choose steals.

id rather have 50 blocks just because they feel so much better then steals and it gets teh crowd pumped

Idk

Blocks send a message to the other team that your not scoring in my territory which can mess with a players head and force bad jump shots.

Steals like every1 else has said give you 50 extra possesions and can lead to more scoring opportunities.

I'd pick steals but Its pretty close

what can't blocks count as TO. you can pin ball on every layup to the basket, easier for you to grab the ball and you could throw it down to who ever is running the fast break.
But i still rather have 50 steals :p.

He must have recorded 50 blocks or steals....

50 finger wags for me. The extra possesions don't really bother me, what about all the missed steals resulting in easy shots?

A force under the basket is more likely to take you to a championship :D

It's close but I say 50 steals for the possesion. 50 steals/50 blocks is a pretty small amount for a season though.

na...not even close to me. winning in general is the best feeling. that steal could change everything if it results in fast break points, a momentum shift, or discourages the handler to dribble much against you. But as far as overall feeling, dunking on someone or making someone fall are the top 2 that arent game winning shots. then a solid block followed by spraying someone

This is a really weirdly worded question.

no context to it whatsoever?

*shrug*

anyway, if you peruse the answers, you find something interesting: people saying 50 steals have team-oriented goals in mind (winning, changing possessions, guaranteeing more chances for the team to score), while people saying 50 blocks have more individual goals in mind (scaring the other team with your presence, how good it feels, being recognized).

just interesting...

If you're attempting lots of steals though, then you're probably missing a lot too, which gets your bigs in foul trouble, and results in lost games. Which feels pretty sucky.
