This game is huge for us to get back on track. Seattle's offense just flat-out sucks, there's no way around that. Their defense is suspect too. If the Pats struggle to win this game, I will be extremely concerned.

Seattle's Offense is plagued with injuries, and their defense has not played to potential by any standard of measure.

Hopefully Cassel and Moss and reconenct and light it up.

Patriots teammates said Wes Welker was going to be okay after taking a big hit that knocked him from the game against the Steelers.

"He's a tough little guy," guard Logan Mankins said. "He took a big hit. I think he's all right." The Patriots still haven't disclosed what specific injury he sustained, but signs seem to point to him playing Week 14.

The Patriots are apparently working out Rosevelt Colvin, who is no longer under contract with the Texans. If they are impressed enough to sign him, he may play in Sunday's game against Seattle. I don't see any problem with this, as long as the Pats think he can contribute. Thoughts?

We must win this game! Actually, we must win all of our remaining games to even have a shot at the playoffs!

Well if they sign him, then he will at least know the system. I would question whether or not he is fully healthy, however, seeing that he was released by the Texans.

Very possible for Pats to win out and I don't see the Colts stumbling so that leaves Miami and Baltimore in the way. Balt has Was, Pitt, @ Dal, and finishes w/ Jax. So that could be 1-2 losses there. And we own the tiebreaker w/ the fins so we got that going for us, which is nice.

NCBoSoxfan21

Colvin would be nice. Last year he had 3 forced fumbles and 4 sacks, maybe he can do something of the same the rest of this year.

That's the only thing that worries me. I got the text update about it today, and felt happy, but sad. Lol. I mean, I loved him when he was with us, but c'mon. The Texans released him off Waivers. A little scary. But at least if he plays Sunday he will have an easy offense to play for his first game back.

Texans have an up-and-coming young defense (Williams, Okoye, Babin, etc). They don't need Colvin, who is, an occasional LB and not a starter.

TheRedMarauder

Wes Welker (head) was present as the Patriots began practice Wednesday.

Another encouraging sign. Welker seems very likely to play in Week 14.

It's a must-win, and a probable win. Let's go boys!

TheRedMarauder
12-03-2008, 11:30 PM
Wes Welker is not on the Patriots' Week 14 injury report.

Despite being knocked out of last week's loss, he will start Sunday at Seattle. Welker is second in the NFL in catches with 84, behind only Andre Johnson (88). T.J. Houshmandzadeh ranks third with 81 grabs. Seattle's pass defense has fallen to 32nd in the NFL and Welker is a must-start in all leagues.

LaMont Jordan (calf) was limited in Patriots practice Wednesday.

Jordan is believed to be fourth on the Pats' depth chart at tailback.

The Boston Herald speculates that the injury Patriots OLB Pierre Woods suffered in Week 13 against the Steelers is a broken jaw.

If so, Woods' season could be over. Bengals OLB Keith Rivers broke his jaw vs. Pittsburgh in Week 7 and went on injured reserve almost immediately.

According to ESPN's John Clayton, Patriots DE Ty Warren's groin injury could keep him out "a while."

Warren's already missed two of New England's last three games and was ineffective when he was active in Week 12. Mike Wright has been starting at right end and is a liability in all areas. The Pats need Warren back soon.

The Patriots' presumed fourth-stringer is uncertain to play in Week 14.

LaMont Jordan (questionable, calf) was limited in Patriots practice Friday.

Jordan presumably will be a game-time decision Sunday at Seattle. Barring a massive blowout, Jordan can't reasonably be expected to get any carries.

easy win for the pats

No such thing. especially for a team missing about a quarter of their opening day starters, travelling 3,000 miles, and (most likely) playing in rain.

With the Pats signing Seau the other day, it should be assumed that Pierre Woods is out for the season with that broken jaw.

Patriots declared DE Ty Warren, WR Kelley Washington, OLB Vince Redd, OLB Pierre Woods, OT Wesley Britt, C/G Billy Yates, TE David Thomas, and third QB Matt Gutierrez inactive for Week 14.

Mike Wright starts at right defensive end. LaMont Jordan is on the game-day roster, meaning the Pats have four tailbacks up.

The Patriots just seem like they're trying to lose this game. I don't know if they're just trying to tank the season to get a higher draft pick or what. The Jets are losing and, we could be tied for 1st if we win but, they playing like they don't even care. I don't care how many injures you've had during the season. Your playing a 2-10 team. This is bad. Real bad.

3 and out. That's terrible. They're going to lose this game because they're getting killed in the field position battle. You keep giving any team a short field and, you will get scored on eventually. It's sad to see a Patriots team look like this.

That's it. Might as well lose the last 3 games so we get a decent draft pick. They need a whole new defense next year. They just can't cause turnovers anymore. This isn't something new either. The same thing was happening last year but, our offense was just outscoring teams. The whole secondary has to go. This not spending money on free agents in the offseason **** needs to end. This is horrible. Bellichick coached teams always had great defenses until last year. I'm starting to think we might need to bring in a better defensive coach to help Bellichick out like maybe Romeo Crennel.

It's because a 2-10 team is picking our defense apart. That's what is so bad about that. I don't care how many injures you have. We should be beating up on a 2-10 team. Not the other way around.

BeAn 5 ToWnE
12-07-2008, 07:30 PM
Oh. Thanks for the explanation, I have a horrible football IQ. All I need it's good when we get in the endzone. :D

StraightBallin
12-07-2008, 07:33 PM
We get in the red zone and keep kicking field goals and, the 2-10 Seahawks get in there and score touchdowns? This might be the end of a dynasty because the defense is too bad to fix in 1 offseason especially when the owners don't like to spend money. Too bad.

BeAn 5 ToWnE
12-07-2008, 07:36 PM
The defense can be fixed through the draft, and simply by getting healthier.

StraightBallin
12-07-2008, 07:38 PM
I cant believe with our season on the line we cant force a turnover or, make a stand. It's like we are trying to lose. I'm sick to my stomach. I never thought I would see a Bill Bellichick coached team fold like this. This is very bad.

We're tied with the Dolphins too. Also, a win next week will not put us in firm control of the division. The AFC East will be won, regardless if its the Pats, Dolphins, Jets, or somehow the Bills, on the last week of the season.

Patriots TE David Thomas was a healthy scratch Sunday in favor of undrafted rookie Tyson Devree.

Drafted in the third round in 2006, there were once high hopes for Thomas after a solid start to his rookie year. But he hasn't been the same since breaking his foot in April 2007. This doesn't bode well for his future with the team.
