If you are the Utah Jazz, what do you do with the Boozer situation?

Reports are going around saying that Boozer will probably try to go elsewhere this summer in attempts to get more funds. However, at the current moment the Jazz are title contenders.

Should the Jazz play it it to try to see if they can win the title with this group and then let Boozer walk this summer, or should they try to see if they can get something for him now so that it doesn't cripple their team for the near future?

Very good question. It might be smarter to go with the future by trading Boozer now. On the other hand, this team COULD win it all this year. They look deeper than ever. Plus, Deron's likely there for the long run, so the future looks bright with or without Boozer.

I might even make a trade to put more eggs in this year's proverbial basket and let the team rebuild next year. This way your probably give Deron another title contending team a few years from now.

i say they should try to trade boozer for a good young player that plays that position and depth in another part.

trade him now for a star locked up cheaply in another area, we got Millsap who I'd prefer us to spend long term money on than an older more easily injured Boozer

you know i wonder if boozer has a problem with playing with player that are better than him. just like the way he rolled out on lebron james and the way he rolled out on duke after he had said that he was gonna stay another year. there must be a pattern here. so knowing that

must be hard for him, he doesnt live in salt lake, and his family lives away from him the majority of the year, if I were him I'd be looking to go to a nice warm city, get me a huge payday and live comfortabley with me family until I retired.

thats why we shoudl trade him, we got Millie who has never missed a game in his career and is a better defender than Booz, we should be focussing on him

I say might as well trade him for a young star. Millsap wouldn't be a bad replacement for Boozer in the long run.

where does his family live at

Salt Lake City in the NBA season and Miami in the off season with Boozer both times. A lot of people are forgetting that Boozers family was away because of his sons medical condition.

I would keep him. They aren't going to get equal value in return for him, so why not keep him and make another run at the championship.

Best way of keepign Boozer is winning a ring.
I highly doubt any team will risk giving equal value player for Boozer since he seams pretty unpredictable with his choices.

There are 2 teams that come to my mind that could risk obtaining Boozer one is Miami for obvious choice other are Bulls for Thomas and Gordon. It would be a big risk to get Boozer now but witha bit of luck you can keep him about Jazz Thomas imo could suprise many under Sloan and plaing with Williams and a guy liek Gordon is always nice to have i realise its not much but better than nothing and imo better than Marion as well.

If you think the jazz truly have a shot to win it all you keep him and go for it. If you don't you trade him and get something of value for him. I don't see the jazz coming out of the west so I trade him.

What the jazz should try and do is get Bosh. Millsap is good but he comes in spurts, he brings energy. he plays maybe 20 minutes a game... Try playin 35+ minutes a game, against the elites. Completly different story, people who think Millsap can fill Boozers shoes are crazy.

Let Boozer go! Try and sign CHRIS BOSH!

What sucks is, I think Millsap and Boozer need new contracts. Millsap is a freaking beast, they need to keep him regardless.

Millsap is playing well and if he could ever get out of Boozer's shadow long-term, who knows how good he could become?

I say there's a very strong chance he bolts at the end of the season, whether it be to Miami or elsewhere. Therefore, I say trade him. The Jazz may not be as good in the playoffs as they have been in years past but it's just for one year until Millsap gets comfortable in an expanded role and whoever they acquire for Boozer fits into the system.

If I'm the Jazz, look beyond Deng. As a Bulls fan, I love the sound of a deal like that but he's not playing very well this year and he seems to be regressing even more so than last season.

Keep him..... they are a good team and there is still a chance that they can be serious contenders this season. Boozer will realize that there are never offers in free agency that are as good as you think they may be.

Sit with him in a room and ask him what he really thinks about, if it is moving then asking him where would he Want to play/resign , see what do they have of interest and trade him.

IDK. I think they should trade him to a team that needs him and get some Quality back. Id say the bulls but in all honesty I know they need nobody from us.

boozer and howard would be the most dominant post combo in the league

Duncan = Donkey

idk but the jazz should offer him a good contract and incentives like free eye brow waxing.

Come to think of it, I think a trade to chicago for gordon and gooden would be a pretty good idea. Both have expiring contracts and we can use that money to sign millsap to a hefty extension.

That would give us a lineup of:

Rose/Hinrich
Hughes/Thabo
Deng/Nocioni
Boozer/Tyrus
Noah/Gray

I'd think I would take that.
