The Spurs are one of four teams in competition for Antonio McDyess, according to his agent. They have the most cap room of any team actively pursuing Dice and they have the biggest rebounding need.

I know the Pistons and Cavs are the favorites. But San Antonio would be a good fit for McDyess right?

Seems like their type of player.

So yeah, good fit.

If the player is a vet, SA is always going to be interested...

However, McDyess would be a great fit for us. If he came to us for cheap, I would love it. He would be an upgrade over any of our bigs, and would probably end up finishing the games if he came to us.

Celtics are an even better fit.
But I would like to see him on the Cavs.

I have to disagree about the Celtics. They have Leon Powe off the bench and that guy can bang. He proved it last night when Garnett was out thanks to the suspension that never should have happened.

The Spurs don't have anyone like that after Duncan. So McDyess would be an incredibly good fit for them.

Cavs would be a good choice too. But they'd have to pay double for him because they're WAAAAY over the luxury cap.

Shouldn't the Spurs be trying to get younger?

Not really. Duncan, Parker and Ginobili still have enough left in the tank for a deep playoff run when they're all healthy. Why not try to win again right now?

I don't think McDyess is looking for a long-term deal.

I was reading an article in which McDyess's agent said that the only team he would take a minimum deal would be with the agents, and that the other teams have more money to offer.

He seems like a guy the Spurs would show interest in, but I think he wants Detroit, and Detroit wants him, or could atleast use him
