Sheldon Williams was picked number 5 in the 06 draft right before Brandon Roy....now he is warming the bench of a re-building lottery team....but I really haven't heard much about him....besides the fact that he's dating Candice Parker....has he really been that bad in the NBA???

pretty much...

The Hawks pretty much screwed over their recent draft picks, except for Al Horford.

sheldan is so horrible. coaches don't have any faith in him. every time he comes in the games he screws up. he apparently thinks he has a great mid range shot, but it's just plain terrible.

Umm, Any one say Barganani. 7 footer drafted #1. He will never have a post game, All he can do is shoot. And when he is off he is terrible

JJ drafted 11. In the start of the season he was getting 12-15 mpg, but he didn't do anything in that time and doesn't even get anymore time now.

he was so good at duke though

He was but it was evident he didn't have any great offensive game even in college. He was just beasting through everyone because he was built like a tank. When he moved over to the L though and he couldn't rely on his body solely because there were other beasts around as well all his weeknesses got exposed. He still is a solid defender though who grabs boards and blocks shots, he just doesn't have the soft touch around the basket to be a reliable scorer in the low block.

Bargnani has been amazing this year coming off the bench. His defence has improved huge and he's been dunking like a mad man which has opened up his perimeter game. Any GM in the league would love to have that kind of talent on their team. The kid has future star written all over him.

Ya definately an underrated bust. I'm guessing people aren't talking about it more because he really hasn't had the chance to prove he's a decent player. If he played as much as a guy like Bargnani or Morrison from the same draft and continued to not produce I think he'd be seen as a bigger bust. Although I think a contender could definately find a way to use him, He's an excellent defender and rebounder when he has the chance. Good thread

Really? You realize he's putting up his worst stats ever this year. '06-'07 he averaged 11.6 ppg, in '07-'08 he averaged 10.2 ppg, this year he's averaging 9.4. His assists and free throw attempts are also down. Future star is taking it a bit too far. I think he'd be more comfortable playing in Europe where the league fits his strengths.
