MIAMI -- Greg Oden says he's ready to play.

The Portland Trail Blazers center says he'll play Wednesday night against the Miami Heat (ESPN, 8 ET), even though the team is listing him officially as a game-time decision. Oden has missed the Blazers' last six games because of a sprained right foot suffered in Portland's season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"Feels good. I'm ready. I'm excited," Oden said after Wednesday's shootaround. "I'll hopefully play the full game tonight."

Oden was the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA draft, then missed all of last season following knee surgery.

Let's hope he's right. I wanna see him play an actual full game unlike what happened vs the Lakers.

bad news for Aldrige.

why's that? Aldridge is splitting time with Frye, not Przybilla or Oden.

It's bad news for Przybilla and Diogu. Basicly Oden is an improved version of Przybilla.

i mean as in Less touches for him, and man i really think Lamarcus SHOULD be the first option , not roy.

I think Tblaze is referring to the role both Przybilla and Oden have in the team.

They are required to rebound, block/alter shots, basically be a strong defensive presence in the post.

I think Roy is doing a good job. Him and Aldridge share the wealth for the most part.

If Oden can just become a 15 and 10 player along with maybe 2 bpg and Aldridge along with Roy continue to do what they do, they could probably beat anyone.

I hope he stays healthy.

But I also don't think he is gonna be as good as everyone thinks.

He doesn't have much offense and he get;s in foul trouble wayyyy too much

Not going to happen, for at least 3-4 years, he is not developed enough offensively to consistently beat people in the post.

He looked really slow against the Lakers opening night. I wonder how he'll perform tonight.

The Heat have no legitimate centers though, so it might give Oden a little bit of room to work on offensively.

It will be a miracle if he can survive a full NBA game...I think it will be hilarious if he gets injured again though.

I think it will be funny because everyone keeps thinking he is going to be the next big thing. He is going to be a beast, rookie of the year, blah blah blah. Who cares if he gets injured? He's a millionaire...**** him.

yeah, great job to everyone here who is predicting he'll not be as monstrous as he is supposed to be. Also good call on the no 15 points per game guy...

So Far Oden has looked every bit the dominating center everyone thought he'd be, and in only 6 games and about 20 minutes a game at that...

Oden got 11 and 10 yesterday with 3 blocks in 17 minutes. It is fair to say he is going to be a presence.

i agree. he's been pretty consistent the last 4 games. 14pts, 10rebs, 3 blks.
i don't expect him to score 15 a game this year, but he's supposed to be a defensive beast, aldridge is their man on the offensive end.
3 blocks per game + countless changed shots is scary.
